    I usually drill the rivet heads off and then bolt them to the frame with grade 8 bolts. Works great.

    I use a solar trickle charger for my long term projects. Doesnt help you much with your question, but if the vehicle gets any sunlight adn sits for prolonged times they work great. best $20 i ever spent.

    Could be a float issue causing the gas to overfill and come out the top of the carb, Would cause these same symptoms. Pretty common on the Q-jets.

    Gotta love TBI

    My days of wheeling with a carb are long gone. Sannd dunes in Coos bay oregon cured me of that. Flooding out, hard starts. Converted teh CJ5 to TBI adn never looked back. Nice pics.

    youll need the crossmeaber for the engine mounts, layout adn cut the holes for the rear leaf spring . its not as hard as it sounds, It can be easily done in a day if you predrill the holes before you start the swap.

    I have ran across a few that wer tight, i installed them adn installed the wheel. I gan get ore torque on the studs with a 4 way. Rechecked them after a short drive. Tightened then right up.

    I have used antifreeze before poured in the tire before mounting them, or down the valve stem. I have used the plastic beads for airsoft guns too. BBs work but made alot of noise when moving slowly.

    Yes, easier to find one thats not rusted out, than convert them to 4x4. Only hard part is the floor pan if it isnt the bolt in version for the transafer case clearance. I plan on starting with a 2wd then a divorced case to remedy having to change the floor out again.

    If you still have these squares for parts when I retire, i will be adding to your pockets for some parts. This one project is exactly why I bought a cherry 94 x-cab to dd. Now I can concentrate on my crew cab build.
