Adding Electric Locks- '76 C20 CCLB

I read that the electric window regulators are the same as manual, and the reason for the bigger door panel on the 77+ is to hide the electric door lock. Can anyone confirm? so the door lock actuator just simply bolts to the inner door structure?

Adding Electric Locks- '76 C20 CCLB

LMC doesn't list the latches separate from power lock to non power lock. Therefore, do I just need the actuators and I have power locks? I'm going to hunt this down...

    Making a single tank '79 bed, a dual '76

I'm going to be putting a winch and spare under the rear. Which I know is not factory in '76, but I don't want the spare in the bed. I will eventually have a diesel in the truck(long term plan), so having fillers on both sides is not a problem for truck stop fill ups. The inner diameter of...

    Making a single tank '79 bed, a dual '76

Hi All, This weekend I picked up a 'parts' truck that is a complete shortbed '79. It's a single passenger tank, with a fuel door(as was standard in '79 from what I can tell). I want the bed to swap on my '76 C20 custom deluxe CCLB. I'm trying to build more or less a factory short bed...

Adding Electric Locks- '76 C20 CCLB

OK- cool. I'm not looking to do electric windows. Just power door locks. As long as the power locks swap from door to door- then that will work. I can buy all new power latches and swap them in- and wire them up. Its hard(for me) to figure out the differences in the doors...

scratch that. won't be making it. I have a wedding to attend in Baton Rouge tomorrow night.:bawl: I am going to pickup a '79 shortbed truck on Sunday morning though. If you need any parts LMK. I'm going to be using the bed and various shortbed components for swapping mine.

Adding Electric Locks- '76 C20 CCLB

Looking to add electric locks to all 4 doors in my '76 C20 CCLB. I don't mind the wiring aspect, I can probably figure that out. For the hardware, the power latches, do I just get some from a later suburban? I tried searching and it isn't clear if the locks stayed the same through...

    Filling Trim holes

get a thick piece of copper or aluminum and hold it behind the holes, and MIG weld over the top. Fills it right in and the backer material doesn't stick to steel. MIG warps way less than TIG. Don't let TV sway your thoughts. Some people use TIG only because the weld is softer since it is...

yep that's it. cool deal man. There is actually a cruise night out in Slidell we want to hit one of these weekends. Never been but heard it's pretty fun and a change of scenery. Big one last weekend was the final Friday[of the month] cruise night in Convington. That one is huge and very...

    Sorting out POs mess

yep. It's a truck I built a few years back. Was on the cover of street trucks Feb 2011. Have you been in New Orleans for a while? I'm born and raised here and my family is big into it- so just being around we have a feel for whats going on and know lots of people. We aren't special, I...

Parking Brake Cables '76 C20 CCLB

Hi, I have a new to me '76 CCLB C20. My parking brake cable broke the other day as it was very rusty. I'm looking to get a replacement, but I'm slightly confused. The break in the line is here- (original pic from LMC truck) questions- my truck is a CCLB. VIN says the truck...

I use rockauto as much as I can. Place is awesome:cheers: currently the return pump is just blocked off on the return part. seems to be working right now, but eventually I'd like to find a suitable 2 line pump and redo the pump to carb line in all metal. currently the pump is straight off...

good to hear- going to rebuild my edelbrock quadrajet this weekend. hoping that fixes it up. Is there a recommended fuel pump that wouldn't have a return but would work on my 454 with the eddy quad?

    8-Lug 2wd Spindle Lift '76 C20

Hi, I'm looking to see if anyone know more about the 88-98 4" spindle lift that people are doing on the 2wd 73-87 3/4tons. As I understand it- the 88-98 balljoints fit in the 3/4 ton arms, and the lift spindle tie rod arm can be reamed out reverse of the 88-98 taper to accept the 73-87...

Thanks man. Are there any local c10 gatherings? Out in Texas there were tons, not sure about back here. Pictures do it lots of justice. Rougher in person, but still not bad. I may be too picky, but really without the crap rust repair I found it wouldn't be bad at all. Thanks! I...

    Sorting out POs mess

I appreciate the reply. I need to get under there with a mirror and a light and try to look at the tops of the tanks. There is no canister anymore- therefore I'm not sure exactly how the tanks are venting. The previous owner(s) may have capped off everything except the feed and maybe...
