Holley 600/650 vacuum secondary ALL I SMELL IS GASSSSSSSS

And I always suggest to get rid of edlebrocks and run holleys. But in my defence. I run double pumps.

    roller cam and lifters

If these are still the 193's. Why did you put that time into swirl ports? Jw. And is the block tapped for a roller cam?

    Really hot after shut off?

That's normal. When the engine is running the water pump is circulating the water throughout the block. And cooling it thrue the radiator. When you shut it off the cooling factor goes away and it's still water. So the heat will collect. Then when you start it back up you circulate and add the...

Agreed. I was talking more of a performance price range (300+ dur.) (What my cam is)

Don't get me wrong. Roller is the bees knees. But yes it's alot more than flat tappet. If you can find a roller block or running engine. Then swap the cam. But retro fits are so expensive

    454 engine build. Need input!

Not sure about bigblocks. But I've seen small blocks. If you get a set of painted headers. A welding shop could weld on a bung

    Driver4r's Monte

Both. I'm running coated skirt pistons. But the coating is only like .0002 thick total. Mainly it's for expansion. Again mainly a performance thing. Usually most places just go .030 for standard use. And .0305 for performance. But since it tends to run hotter in the summer and I run it HARD and...

    Driver4r's Monte

I actually went with a roller block this time around. It's cheeper than a retro kit. With a retro kit you will have the run the link bar style lifters which will run you about 4-500. Then with a cam that let's say is another 4-500. There's 1k already. So unless you run a small base cam...

    Driver4r's Monte

Thanks. I did it all myself. It's a deck plate. It basically preloads the block when you bore it. The metalergy inside the block thinks the heads are bolted on. So when you bolt the heads on its perfectly straight. Deck plate vs. Non it's not a whole lot of difference. But I think it's like...

    454 engine build. Need input!

Tire roasting is dependant on torque. Not horsepower. Build a 460 with a mild cam, dual plane intake, and headers.

    G-body Headers on a Square??

3rd gen(70-72) chevelle headers ARE g body headers. Same as 80's camaro. And I've had to message all of my headers to make them clear the best Green why kind of deals are there for gbody headers in your area? Mine have seen their better decades.

Bucket. If I had the funds to spare. I would buy some 300cfm heads for it. But I don't have 5k just to throw at heads. I just used a calculator to find the cfm requirement of the engine at hand. And it came out to 957.755 @10k. Now I know not all 8 draw air at the same time. But just for the...

@ skinney. Today I was playing around on a CR calculator and If I leave the pistons in the hole 015, and run a .015 steel shim. That makes .030 quench which is optimum. The problem I have with running a composite gasket(.030) is I don't want to blow it out cause its to much surface area. Now if...
