84 3+3 454 sm465 - No power, fusible link?
truck has been running mostly fine. drove to work today and it was uneventful. parked, left the lights on, and came back out to ZERO power whatsoever. No dash lights, no crank, no fuel pump (its a loud electric one mounted right under the driver seat) .... Had my multi-meter so i checked...- Affende

Brighter lights all around
I ordered two of those kits. one for my 83 and one for my 84. I promptly returned them. Judging by the language and the feel of those harnesses, LMC didnt pay more tan $0.75 for the whole damn thing plus the boat ride. No thanks. Fuel Tank Selector Valve
Mine has a manual valve and an external pump ... apparently the PO got tired of dealing with the electric valv Seems the last owner of my 84 3+3 K3500 had a similar thought. Mounted a manual valve underneath the front seat.- Affende

arent 4-leaf packs an option? it would stiffen up the front for sure, but swapping springs is easy and yours are likely sagging anyway. thats my plan on the 84 K3500 ... currently has 3 leaves, ill be going with a 4 leaf pack.- Affende

Dot 3, Dot 4, Dot 5, Dot 5.1, synthetic race, etc. DOT 3/4/5.1 are all glycol ether based and backwards compatible. DOT5 cannot be mixed with any of the other three. What kind you put in doesnt matter as long as you put in the correct grade or HIGHER. Dont put DOT 3 in a system designed... -

Vent window locking latches
mine (83 and 84)have a gasket between the spring washer and the glass. I honestly cant tell if it is a plastic washer or a rubber washer that has hardened over time. I would assume it is a hard plastic washer that acts as a wear plate so the spring washer doesnt damage the glass over time. -

Thanks for the info. I hadnt thought about the fan noise from the blower being inside the cab. I do like a quiet cab. I may look into insulating the vent hoses and trying to deal with some of the noise problems from the fan, even it involves adding some sound deadener to the blower housing... -
