What Chevy Big Block do you like best?

One that doesn't cost any money.

I deal Square setup for ND Snow season.

I drove a 2wd truck with an open diff, and a stall converter for years through indiana winters with no weight, and no issues. Just need to be careful with it.

    DRW Dana 60 front

Strength wise, not much. Cost to build, the Dana 70 its way more expensive to build when it comes to lockers and gears, 14ff disc swaps are easier to come by too.

    front driveline

Well, my driveshaft won't work then, it's for the yoke style front output.

there are only 2 different widths on a front 60. a DRW and a SRW. the DRW is 5-6" wider IIRC.

    Corp 14 bolt, different lengths?

Having had 2 of them stripped down next to each other, the housing lengths are different from spindle to spindle.

    DRW Dana 60 front

22 years of chevy truck specific experience, and a little common sense tell me that you can't get a 5 or 6 lug semi floating axle in a 1 ton truck.

    front driveline

what transfer case does yours have behind it? i've got a nearly new shaft made of all genuine Spicer parts , fully balanced and everything, for a 465/205 combo. less than 1000 mi on it. PM me if that's what you're looking for, I've pulled the 465/205 out of the truck and its getting an...

    DRW Dana 60 front

uh... no... not even close. 1 ton means either a 14 bolt full floater, or a Dana 70 full floater. no other option in a K30.

    Pedals

notice he said save or sell... the 85+ hydraulic clutch setups are a tough to find setup. i always check every 85+ square i see in the junkyard for these pedals, and the bellhousing.

which front axle should i use?

It's a manual shifted case, with a factory fitted vss. Your 411 will need the vss signal to function the trans.

    DRW Dana 60 front

Never sold a 60 for less than 800, drw chevy 60s are all I've ever had. Got 1100 for my srw high pinion ford 60. I've got a 4.56 geared drw chevy 60 in the shop with factory drive slugs that I'm giving 400 for.

    Corp 14 bolt, different lengths?

Another thing to consider with your "source"... if you remember, before the show was created, there was an internet based contest for a host for an off road show for spike tv... He won his job in an internet contest, and is now a puppet for writers who are sometimes misinformed.

    Corp 14 bolt, different lengths?

Having owned several c&c 14 bolts, I can assure you, the c&c housing is considerably narrower.

    8" lift help

4" 52s are what you need... A set for the front, and a set for the rear with a shackle flip... As for recommending Rough Country... This is definitely a case where thinking with your wallet its a bad idea. Those springs ride like trash compared to a good spring.

U-Joint Study - Greaseable vs Non Greaseable

I posted this info on FSC, I think it fits here nicely, since there have been questions about part numbers, and most of those types of questions will involve axle swaps.

    Glasspacks

Nah, they have members who think the loudest snap crackle pop tone you can get is the best when cruising through the trailer park with your cousin snuggled up close, too.
