1976 C-10 Cooling Issues
I dunno. I have a 2 core factory rad with the trans cooler built in. I run a 195 T-stat in a 350 and it is always around 200-205* With a clutch fan and an auxiliary trans cooler I previously had run the solid fan and a 180 T-stat and I could never get it warm enough to run smooth. Heater Core Problem?
Your heater core is leaking and needs to be replaced. Get a rebuilt core from any parts store and then we will walk you through the process of changing it. -

Ya that dodge drive shaft will not work on that 203. FYI the 203 is the worst transfer case GM ever used. The 205 has a little round cover with 3 bolts in the middle on the back face of the case. Newb question on valve cover
X2. You probably need to completely remove the compressor from the bracket. If its easier to remove the bracket from the engine block then do that. Just do which ever is easier for you.- MadOgre

Yes you probably have to remove more items. Rather then disconnecting the A/C lines simply unbolt the compressor and move it with the lines out of the way. The valve cover, has a tray, for each grommet on the cover, and they fit in between the valves. So you have to pull the valve cover straight...- MadOgre

Ya that's about right. I paid $400 once for my front Double Cardan shaft. Ya that's definitely a 6" lift! I was just told the other day by another member here that a 2005 Dodge front drive shaft is a little longer then ours and uses 1350 u joints which is an upgrade over ours 1310 I...- MadOgre

Well you can get a TV cable bracket from a 1/2 ton TBI. whether it will swap to the BB I dunno- MadOgre

I just bought a 1982 K10!
Yes they do and they are pretty reasonably priced as well. I was quoted a price of nearly $500 per spindle from the parts store but RockAuto has them for $160 I think.- MadOgre

700r4 + 454 = disaster................. 454 + 4L80e = sweet! Just swap the whole driveline and use both the ECM and TCU from the 96' Don't waste your time pissing around with a 700r4 not to mention you would have to find a way to run a TV cable to your TBI ??? WOW! You can actually see splines at the slip yoke ? Oh its a 2 piece shaft, right? And I would bet money that you got 6" springs, probably just a mess up from the supplier, but none the less those are 6" springs for sure! What did you do to correct the drag link angle?- MadOgre

Those springs are exactly the same height as a 1/2 ton stock spring. That's not how you measure a lifted spring. You cant go off of that. You have to measure how much the truck is lifted once all the weight of your vehicle is sitting on them. I have 2 brand new 4" springs sitting on my... -

You can use a sheet of gasket material and use a small hammer to gently tap the imprint of the mating surface into the gasket material.
