If I am taking the cat off, which I understand can be a PIA, should I try a trick I saw from a guy on yew toob that says "Rev Your Engines"? If it looks clogged you can soak the cat in dish soap and water overnight to clear the honeycomb... I most likely could benefit from a new cat/exhaust... -

@Ricko1966 , I remember the first time you posted the pic of the tank down with brackets the first time. I was looking. And it was probably you, but I also remember the pic of the new tank ready to go up in brackets, strapped in, and hoses attached to sending unit ports. -

I meant getting the brackets off the frame. Yes my intent is to keep the holding brackets strapped to the tank while lowering. And I also meant getting new brackets and straps when I said I am getting new straps. I was collectively grouping the whole piece together(straps, brackets, bolts). I... -

I decided to take the plastic cover off the tank to get a better look and get that out the way when I finally am able to spend enough time taking the tank down. Hopefully some on Saturday and then maybe the rest on Tuesday next week. Look what was inside the tank shield! Look at that rusty ass... -

How am I going to get to that straps bolts? Will it be ok to take the cat off to take the tank out? There seems to be a shield above the cat. I suppose taking the cat out to get this tank down will answer the question about my cat causing the studder, unless I have to cut in to the cat to find... -

So I got under and found that the catalytic converter is directly in front of the drivers side front tank strap. The rear strap seems to be easily accesible Please see first 3 pics: -

When it warms up I am going to take a close look at both tanks, check their ground wires, make sure they are actually attached at the frame, check the grounds in the engine bay if I can find them, and pressure test the fuel. Both of my tanks used to work then the drivers side died on me one day. I would switch periodically to keep things flowing, so I have always had an idea that this tank/pump/selector/sending unit issue would be abrupt and necessary.
