In you neck of the woods Texas pull that caraccas meaning the whole truck to a garage, and find a donor! probably cheaper. Or go painless, personally I would find a donor.- hoagster

I use the google maps gps speed and run right up to the limit! That way I can see, my truck is 2-3 under the gps. -

Finally got the steering column installed. Now I need to plug in the connectors. I know that the harness was routed around the column and taped at the factory. cut back some of the firewall pad but if someone what to get down there and look go ahead. route some more wiring, reinstall the... -

You need my cat! Thunder, he has trapped 3 ground squirrels his size so I can dispatch them and I have zero mice! He eats inside sleeps all day and goes out at night, no litter box! yes that is a big dog bed, he doesn't care about any dog either! -

@jlynn79 not sure that is a good Idea at this point. Go back to the start of this thread and read everything. Including you and your dad's post's. Take pictures of everything you have done. Don't buy anymore parts. The fix here has already been talked about several times. Go re-read everything...- hoagster

There are some counties in northern CA, I don't live in one unfortunately that don't require smog checks. Siskiyou, Modoc, Lassen come to mind. Find a friend in one of those counties and change the registration address!! As long as it passes and you have all the requisite parts as @DoubleDingo...- hoagster

heres a video to show how to use the above scanner. And Autozone has them for $35 I used the ford version when I owned a Ranger pickup that would fail smog tests in California. Saved me several times on the EGR system- hoagster

https://www.steeringcolumnservices.com/ Rebuilt it. They did a awesome job. One of the things that really surprised me is along with the Column they sent all the old parts that they replaced back. -

I did do it other than remove it what seems like a long time ago. I sent my steering wheel off to get rebuilt. One of the best purchases so far in this rebuild. Can't wait to reinstalled it. Shout out to https://www.steeringcolumnservices.com/ -

Couldn't find it on any online parts stores yet. It's a little late any way no way I'm taking this apart to install it, I have an idea on how to fill that void that most won't even notice! Had it rebuilt, best money I have spent so far on this rebuild! -

No check engine light.
From what I understand and I could be wrong it has to be a filament bulb, leds wont work. So if you went digital the check engine light still needs to be filament.- hoagster
