One of the big inefficiencies I remembered when this setup was offered was the factory antennas, even the power versions, were electrically short for 27mc CB and had very little range. It wasn't the radio as much as the chitty am/fm antenna used.- Radiohead

Just don't scrimp on the antenna system. That's where the heavy lifting comes from, if you want your set to have some legs. An amplifier is not necessarily the answer. Shoot a picture of what you come up with. Also, if your panel is an unmolested radio delete, maybe find a decent one that...- Radiohead

Best way to transport 19 55 gallon barrels?
Go to the restaurant supply store and get a roll of that 4mil or thicker clear wrap that is like 2' wide. Set barrels on flatbed, wrap up and strap down. Could sandwich with plywood.... just thinking aloud. -

Got the colum all tidied up and was going to put the proper termination on the cruise stalk wire mod and noticed this. I can't say for sure if this end was like this originally but it is now. Not sure how I could have pushed the center out far enough to do this doing only what I did so I... -

Key stuck in ignition
Here's something else to consider. There's that goofy spring (on the columns I've seen) that catches maximum tension on the lock pin itself off the ignition cylinder drive position. If that spring is fukkurd up, it will mess with deployment of that lock pin. If yours is intact and attached...- Radiohead

Different vintages route differently. Each has its +/- and aftermarket anything is a crap shoot these days. Fabricating a fix for this isn't too hard, just keep slack allowances in mind (sometimes you can adjust out some stuff) and keep all bends as wide as possible. Key stuck in ignition
I ran into the wheel lock hub thingie rubbing on the column. Determined that the thing was bent, like too much oomph with the lock plate tool. When flattened out, all was happy again. That starter switch rack and pinion thing is finicky too. Almost like things were built with some idea of fit...- Radiohead

Air Cleaner Fitting - PCV?

What have you done to your square lately??
I found some 8 lead Telcom wire in the mess and I think it will work as well as fit into the provided cavity. I'll make it a little longer so i can have a little leeway in how it goes back together. Lol, I said that this other column was cleaner. I mean clean as in all there and not all wobbly. -

Well, it is the PNW. So, I'm sure it's somewhere in between. Fished the cruise wire out and thinking about how I'm going to fix this with what I have laying around. This column has something beyond just the screws being loose under the tilt mechanism. The shaft flops around, not the housing... -
Can the heater core be turned off?
You could put a shutoff on each outlet of the core and build a crossover out of flush tees and hose. But probably easier to just use a little tubing to clamp each hose to its friend and call it good. Just depends on how complicated you are willing to make the plumbing. -
What new tools have you got lately?
Anyone have or use one of these? I may be needing one of these with the column project. I won't get one unless I need to, but wondering what others have to say about it. Not like it breaks banks or anything.... but $11 is $11 worthless dollars.
