1973 - 1987 Step Side fender splash aprons

You must be fun at parties, lol. You’ll have to fabricate anything that would protect the back of the gas tanks on these trucks. It never existed in OE or aftermarket form. However, given your extreme aversion to a VERY low probability risk, with a low magnitude of damage and severity, I’m...

1973 - 1987 Step Side fender splash aprons

^Hahaha yet i put them back on after replacing a rotted tank! Lol It was packed with mud and may have been for 30 years. Other tank was pristine.

    Odd Cooling System issue

And afaik the factory flow control valve was to shut down the heater core for max AC performance. Although too much flow could make the heater core cooler. Happens in low temp fresh water cooling in boards but water isn’t recirculated. Not an issue in cars I’ve ever seen.

    Odd Cooling System issue

Well if you’re sure it’s the heater core, it is quick to diagnose. Crimp a heater hose and run it up to temp. In 10 min you’ll know for sure. Presume you know the engine is running cold too by more than the gauge in the dash.

    Odd Cooling System issue

No, a flow control valve is not what you need. It’s not keeping your truck cold. Not possible or they’d use them as the radiator. You have an airlock or thermostat upside down or something. How far you drove the truck and it won’t heat up?

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

Just seen a 2019 Duramax dually high country. With only a “few” whiskey dents, 140k miles, one owner etc etc. $63k ! Roflmao All these dumb fuggers who bought new stuff during covid haven’t realized that it was a bad decision. Oh wait, also never towed anything, lol. Just 60k a year...

    How to "Un-Lift" my suburban

Just gotta measure. Or use a chart like skyjacker has and then measure. No one here knows what you have for length and what fits. This isn’t one size fits all and you have a franken truck. Which means just measure. And I’d wait until after I did springs and broke them in a bit unless you...

    How to "Un-Lift" my suburban

First thought is find someone to trade suspensions with. Probably enough light duty Square 4x4s in the Denver area to find a taker. Barring that, fire up the Mastercard and the internet. Easy peasy. If you want rides like a stagecoach wagon get Rough Country front springs. If you don’t buy...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

Thats the ultimate sleeper! I just sold the Bitchin Camaro last night. 3800/5speed. Briefly thought about doing this. Quite a few turbo builds on those stock 3800 II engines out there. Seem to be a reliable 400hp + setup. Embarrass a lot of badder looking cars with that setup I’m sure.

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

So not a total bullchit on CL story but close. Been an 87 Monte SS for sale around here for months. Black original miles 37k, supposedly original paint, interior kinda cooked (doesn’t add up if low miles and decent original paint). Finally had to call on it. Brotha seemed forthright on the...

Looks like he needs to just take a 0 off the end of the price! More seriously, what do you think it’s actually worth? I mean, interior looks nice ish but that seat foam is fugged. 2.8 = deduct And it needs hundred hours and $1000 worth of paint plus more in parts, wheels etc to make it even...

    Rear Window size question

If it’s a decent slider you could probably get someone to trade you for a solid window. If you were closer, I would. Worth mentioning I’m almost certain someone, Precision maybe, finally makes new weatherstripping for sliding windows if that’s the issue with yours. (For the sliding panes, not...

    Looking At A 2005 Z71 4x4

Miles, maintenance history, what repairs have been done that won’t need to be done again soon and condition are the best ways to judge it. Above what “kind” of vehicle it is. Same goes for any 20 year old used car. That said, I believe in general the early gmt800s are very reliable overall...

    Modern Retrofit Tow Mirrors.

Unless it’s just a beater that you tow with and looks don’t matter, I think any “newer” style big black plastic mirror would look totally out of place. Assuming you have the old school aftermarket west coast trucker mirrors that mount top and bottom? By your description. There are similar style...

Hidden Rattle Found, Update Not Found!

Reminds me. I need some for the 77, but it doesn’t rattle… Another plus of that ole brown truck being a truck camper truck. The tailgate probably spent 35 years leaning up against a wall somewhere. It’s a beauty. Even the handle isn’t bent lol.

    Ryobi 18v jumper box theories?

Idk, I don’t think just a step down converter would do it. Haven’t given it much thought, but don’t those little Lithium jump boxes start out at a much higher voltage? IE that’s how you get enough current to spin a big engine out of something the size of a cell phone? I know it was impressive...

Remember When I was asking for help from anyone locally!. Pic's inside.

^ Lol at the noise comment. Agree, complete axles in good working condition are just too plentiful and cheap to fck with rebuilding that. ESPECIALLY since you’re not talking diy. You could buy and replace like 4 or 5 of them (not including labor) for what you were quoted for a rebuild. And only...
