Picked up my first classic truck

If she still has the stock Rochester carburetor, yes. The fuel line running into the carb has a 1" fitting that threads into the front housing. That fitting releases the stock fuel filter & spring. Make sure the filter you find is installed correctly too. Ask me how I know- LOL!! As others have...

Truck dies on the side of the road. Any suggestions?

I still keep thinking about those pickup filter screens inside the fuel tanks. Imagine some debris clogging it up, starving your fuel supply. Truck dies, particles release after sitting a few days, then truck starts right back up again, until it chokes down again with debris inside the fuel tank(s).

    1978-86 Rochester Fuel Filter Seal

How is it that my local Autozone, O'Reilly, and Advance Auto Parts stores sell the stock fuel filter, but never heard of the fuel filter housing/fitting seal?? I am talking about that 1" round, hard, plastic seal that clips onto the ends of the threads. All Rochesters have them. This is supposed...

Truck dies on the side of the road. Any suggestions?

Maintenance history? Fuel filter been replaced in the last 12k? Pick-up sock inside the tank(s) could have enough debrie/trash on it that it is clogging up. Stop the truck, then it all falls back down??

Where is everyone getting the foam backed headliner material today?? It would be for a regular cab truck. I need blue... No luck at our local Michaels, WallyWorld, or Hobby Lobby- They had tan, black, & gray though. -Jon in TX.

    Torque Convertor Lock-Up Switch

I have a 1984 Chevrolet Silverado with an all stock 5.0L and TH350C transmission. With 2.73 gears right now I want to add a manual over-ride switch for the TCC lock-up. Which wires are safe to tap into for this manual switch? Blue or green?? Or does it matter?? -Jon in TX.
