    Headache rack ideas

Red River Valley. I am from the Minot area. I have been through WI a few times, it is a beautiful state, but it's too far east for me. ;)

There is more to ND than the RRV on the east coast. It isn't all flat.

    Headache rack ideas

The headache racks like the one in the picture I posted had went through the stake pockets just like that, but had angle iron that ran the whole length of the bed sides since they had a back rack too that also was anchored in the stake pockets. Doing that helps take some stress off the top of...

Ha! Not until after she got her Monte Carlo!

I wish they would quit using salt on our roads up here in the winter.

    88 Caprice Classic Wagon

My wife's first car was an '83 Olds Delta 88 2 door. It had the 307 in it, but she didn't have it very long after we started dating...got a Monte Carlo instead. I really don't remember if I ever even drove it. I do remember it seemed rather...grandma'ish'.

    88 Caprice Classic Wagon

I just learned something...I never knew they put Olds 307's in Caprice Wagons. How did they compare with Chevy 305's?

    Headache rack ideas

My Grandpa and Dad's oilfield roustabout company used to build there own headache racks and had them on all their pickups back in the day. Here is an example of one of them they built in the 80's. The back rack had hammer unions on it so it was easy to take off or swing out of the way.

    '74 GMC hubcap paint color

How about the gray color for the grill? Is it like an argent silver?

    '74 GMC hubcap paint color

The black on the hubcap is a satin black and not glossy, correct?

    '74 GMC hubcap paint color

My friend recently acquired this '74 GMC 3/4 ton Camper Special. He would like to repaint the hubcaps, but hasn't figured out what is the correct color to paint the "GMC" on the hubcaps. Does anyone know what that actual color is supposed to be?

Can I Get a Build Sheet?

I wish! No, I just searched Scottsdale Chevy and saw that pic. It showed the moldings and the 4 headlight option.

    Double Dingo's 1965 3/4 Ton "Crusty Biscuit"

Does it make the sound when the pickup is going over a bump or turning a corner and you get some articulation or body lean/flex? The coil springs in my '68 C10 will make some noise sometimes in those situations.

Can I Get a Build Sheet?

Scottsdales should have body molding. Custom Deluxe wouldn't unless it was ordered with a upgrade appearance package if I remember correctly. Deluxe front appearance package that is on your SPID I think was the quad headlights like a Silverado would have came with.

6.5 Turbo reliability for an RV?

Thanks for the pictures. I was wondering what to do with the tranny cooler and AC condenser if I added a pusher electric fan.

    Double Dingo's 1965 3/4 Ton "Crusty Biscuit"

My one bit of advice: take that Fram filter and throw it in the trash. Those things are a problem waiting to happen. I'm enjoying this thread. Very cool to see a 292!

    Newbie 74 step side

That's a sweet ride! Has a few custom things like badges from '69-70 (which look cool), newer mirrors, and wide steel wheels. Tastefully done. Drive it and enjoy!

    3 on the tree

Perry, that's a great story! I have tried to get my dad on this forum, but he just isn't very comfortable with computers. He sold that old Impala when my brother and I were little kids in the early 80's. He pulled the 283 first and put it his '69 C10 pickup that he had at the time. He did end...

    3 on the tree

My dad is from your generation and he had a '62 Impala with a 235, and a Muncie 3 speed on the column back in the late 60's - early 70's. He borrowed the car to a friend who blew up the 235, so he overhauled a 283 and put a floor shifter in. Said the same thing, couldn't afford a 4 speed swap!

    3 on the tree

Yes it is a Borg Warner overdrive unit. I'm certain it is a Muncie 3 speed now. The Saginaw 3 speeds had 7 bolt side covers evidently and the light duty Muncie 3 speeds had 4 bolt side covers. I found this website that had some good info on it that helped me ID it...

    3 on the tree

After doing some research, this might be a Muncie and not a Saginaw because it is a 4 bolt side cover instead of a 7 bolt side cover. @DoubleDingo which transmission is in Crusty Biscuit?

    3 on the tree

I was reading @DoubleDingo 's thread on Crusty Biscuit and it made me think about this topic. My dad acquired this 3 speed OD transmission a few years ago. I believe it is out of a '67 C10. I have no idea if it was a 6 cylinder or V8 pickup. He wanted me to put this in my '68 C10 in place of...

6.5 Turbo reliability for an RV?

I tried to take a couple pics of the radiator. Any suggestions on what electric fan may work?

    Wagon wheels? Can’t decide.

I dig those wide steelies. I'd like to find a set of those for our suburban someday.

I actually like the stock wheels and hub cap look.
