    Shocks are like steel bars.

Well, if all this doesn’t help, I’m gonna drive it off a cliff. Lol

Death wobble, or bad wheel balance?

@idahovette @RanchWelder @Grit dog The pitman arm nut was still tight when I checked it. The steering box is an autozone box, so maybe it’s the problem. I can grab steering shaft with pliers and move it approx 10 deg, maybe little more and there is no play in rag joint. If I try to move...

    Shocks are like steel bars.

Yeah, I didn’t put them on, but hadn’t removed them because I hadn’t driven it much over the time I’ve been restoring it. Now that it’s ready, I want to, but this was way too harsh. I don’t think it’s bottoming out because I don’t feel the nose drop with bumps, or potholes and the bump stops...

    Shocks are like steel bars.

It doesn’t feel like there is any movement in suspension at all, the bump pads don’t look damaged/ work, so that is why I was wondering if the shocks could be seized, but idk. I can tell the tires have way more give than old ones. I’ll check tire pressure tomorrow. I’m going to Summit to get...

    Shocks are like steel bars.

Bumps and potholes are so jarring, really does seem like steel bars instead of shocks, and so loud! I know it’s is old and rickety, but geez. Background info- the truck has 3” blocks front and back and what I think are original, or at least old, stock height shocks, so over extended and maybe...

Death wobble, or bad wheel balance?

So, when I came across my truck, all tires were inflated, except front driver and who knows how long it was like this; several years. When I was working on it and testing different things, I’d take it around neighborhood and I could feel the bounce from what I thought was low point in tire. I...

What have you done to your square lately??

I’ve added the new shoes, whole new a/c system, although I can’t get it vacuumed down. ‍♂️ sanded down bed floor and coated it. Next weekend, I’ll seal seems and sand walls to cover and paint grey. I’m not sure I like my new wheels over old set up.

What tire size you running and pic for bonus.

There it is… looks a lot different.

What tire size you running and pic for bonus.

Nice. Thanks to all for pics. Here are first glimpses. Maybe the rears would look good up front, too. I was thinking the fronts were going to stick out more than they do now.

    AC Compressor

@Lugnut- thanks, man... I found it on a site, but they wanted $25! lol Now that I know the length, I can buy a cheap spacer, or cut one.

    AC Compressor

@texasmike hello, I noticed your post in a search looking for length of spacer at bottom. Did you find out? I have an 84 k20. Thanks, -Dan

@Zelph- that looks niiice. Real nice. Those are 17s, or 18s? @86Blueberry454, man, Those look pretty sharp on the pick up!

    @Krust88 Nice! That's what I'm going with.

@duckslayerja right? It can be frustrating to try and decide. lol That combo looks good! Thanks for helping me out.

What tire size you running and pic for bonus.

Thanks, Grit dog! I am going with the 285s after all. Hopefully it will fill up the wheel well nicely. The wrap is hard around the curves at the front of the fenders and the back lights of the bed, but nothing a heat gun can't help you with, but a helper that applies the heat while you stretch...

@Doppleganger that combo looks great! I’m gonna look around for 285/75.

What color do you guys think would look better for wheels? The top of the cab, bed rails and grill are all a medium grey. I want the wheels to stand out somehow. Opinions appreciated. -Dan

@Old Guy Bill, thanks for the picture. Those tires look good on there. Maybe the 33s would look better.

What tire size you running and pic for bonus.

I don’t know, but I certainly don’t want to make a mistake and be stuck with it. This is my pick up with 265/75/16s and they measure out to 31.6, which I think 265/70/17 measure out to 31.8. I’m not a fan of a tall side wall, but I don’t want the tire size in question to look to think on...

What tire size you running and pic for bonus.

I am painting my new 17" oem replicas to be ready for this weekend, but I can't decide if I want to stay stock tire size, or go up to 33. Does anyone have any pics to share of your 16", or 17" wheels with 33s on them? Thanks, -Dan

    Got my 17” steelies in!

Thanks! I think I'm probably going to paint them. I am ticked off with US Wheel though; VERY poorly packaged and got a couple tiny dents on the lip of the wheels. I don't really like how the fron wheels stick out more than the rears on squares, so this will make the rear stick out more to match...

    Got my 17” steelies in!

17x8 up front without any backspacing. 17x9 out back with only 3.5” of backspacing. I purchased them unfinished and I kind of dig how they look! I’m looking into the possibility of sealing them with a clear coat. If I don’t do that, they will be painted graphite.

Factory Stand Alone 0411 PCM for 4L80e

I had a 4l80 from an astro van, but it was late ninties. Got rid of it and got one from a 90 chevy 3500. I hope this wasn't a mistake, but through research, I read that the 90 to 95 used a TCM and you can get those pretty cheap and doesn't require reprograming/flashing/tun as I don't have...
