What have you done to your square lately??

I’d like to remove just the fenders but not the hood to work on the fenders and install the doors. Can it be done this way? I was considering building a couple triangle braces for resting the hood while I work on the fenders.

What have you done to your square lately??

Highly doubtful it’s enforced, pull up to any intersection or parking lot and you will see at least one expired registration, usually many expired.

What have you done to your square lately??

Hoping to get back working on the K20 soon to finish up the box and paint. I’ve been busy doing prison work (moving rock, dirt, planted around 75 low water plants, mulch, etc….) I just have several tons of rock to go. I’m gonna spray bedliner in between moving rock.

    roof rust "paint?"

Try an oxidized area with naval jelly, cover with plastic wrap for a day or so, preferably indoors. I’ve had good success with it to remove rust. After that, epoxy primer like most recommend. Wear proper safety protection when using.

    Poll: alternative 20” wheel options

I like em all! Period correct wheels look great but the aftermarket wheels are off the charts IMO. Imagine cars today if they had the same boring wheels from back in the day…. Barf!

    First post with Questions

Exhaust rubbing from a loose or improperly placed hanger will result in a squeak, depending where it’s at it will resonate into the cab. You could also increase the radio volume and keep the windows down to drown out the squeak, that’s the if it’s not broken don’t fix it theory. Nice looking truck!

Please help me solve this riddle

Well, winter is around the corner and I am gonna start driving my beater car, 99 Bonneville 3800, 275k miles. Thus, I’m going to work on my new issue that I didn’t solve when I stopped driving end of April. I definitely have oil in my coolant, enough to leave residue on my finger when I put it...

Scores from DIY Parts Yards, Pull A Part, U Pull It etc

Silverado showed up in the yard so I pulled the two door glass and vent windows, head liner, seat track, and some misc interior parts. The original door glass was badly scratched.

Seam sealed the bed, now I wait for seven days to cure. Time to work on xeriscape.

What have you done to your square lately??

Still sanding, and welded 25 holes in the bed, makes nearly 70 total since I started working on the box. Welded the torque washers too. Hopefully coated in bed liner by month end.

What have you done to your square lately??

I believe GM recommends changing at 5 year intervals. My 04, with around 55k had an overheating issue hauling my travel trailer so I drained and refilled. I also did some other maintenance like cleaning the cooling stack, it definitely runs cooler after the needed maintenance.

How would you make this truck less ugly??

It’s a Minnesota truck that will continue to see salt and it looks pretty good, actually. I’d fix the bent bumper and the dent around the turn signal area. Perhaps, you could add some fender flares to hide the rust around the wheels. Hang some used chrome trim on the two tone.

What have you done to your square lately??

Thank you for the words of confidence. Gonna spray it with bed liner so it won’t be shiny since it will continue to be a working truck. I am thinking a modernized older camper could be nice to put on the back. I have some air bags for the rear as well and some camper support mounts that fit...

What have you done to your square lately??

Citristrip the tailgate supports, another round still to go. Surprised to see some factory orange, was that common practice during production? These look galvanized under the seven coats of paint and primer, I assumed these didn’t get painted?

    Red Oxide Primer

When I was going that direction, I purchased this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S9782W3/ It was my understanding it would make the coating harder and less prone to washing off if you over filled your fuel tank and it spilled on your paint. It was recommended in a paint thread and had...

What have you done to your square lately??

And….the fun hasn’t stopped. I was delirious that I could spray the box inside this weekend, probably in a month or so, this was definitely a Frankenstein working truck which I believe hauled a gorilla that hungered for Swiss cheese. The bed is pretty hammered and a lot more holes to weld. I...
