A couple weeks ago I purchased a dash from Jegs since it was discounted $145, ordered dark brown and they delivered black, sent it back and they resent dark brown. The black one arrived in a sealed bag, the brown one did not and it had grinding dust so it appeared used. I called to ask why and... -
Can't decide what to do. Suggestions? Thoughts?
Purchase a reasonable $$ similar crate motor with a warranty to switch it out so it’s an easy swap.- mxer147

What have you done to your square lately??
Sanded on the fenders, rocker panels, and tailgate; might be warm enough to primer next two days. I also drilled the new hole for the old school emblem. I despise sanding too; these old trucks have a lot of surface area. -
Please help me solve this riddle
Did a compression check today, cylinders 1, 3, 5 were consistently at 125 psi, cylinders 2, 4, 6 were consistently 145 psi. Is it possible that head gasket 1, 3, 5 is slightly damaged causing lower compression readings?- mxer147

FRONT FENDER COWL CAGE NUT Gone
I welded the cage nut to a washer. I then drilled four new holes around the sheet metal where the cage nut belongs. I’m not restoring it to show condition so I plan to leave my personalized flaws in the paint. Considering it’s a driveway DIY paint job, it looks good enough and should protect the metal for another 10-20 years as it sits outside to weather. -

Those wheels look better on the SB than the 800, in my opinion. I sold my set after the stock tires wore out. They sold pretty quickly for $100 per wheel. I put on some 17” black MTs which I like much better. A couple of the stock wheels clear coat was burning off so they started looking tired...- mxer147

Removed the candy wrappers, still a twenty footer but a five footer in the dark. A couple sags in the white paint and a little cobbly in some areas down low but it still works for me and I am still motivated to getRdone. -

Pulled some tape/paper and hung the drivers door. I popped both fenders off last week so the doors will be easier to hang. -

1.25 gallons of Raptor liner and around 0.25 gallons of epoxy primer. I’m sure some of you are cringing that I sprayed it for chip guard on the bed side. It was that or lots of hammering, filling and sanding….. I chose the easy path, I will be spraying gloss white over it as soon as it is... -

Paper and taped the box sides, washed the bed metal down the with soap and water; assuming no wind, I plan to shoot primer and bed liner tomorrow morning. Let it dry a couple days so I can put it to work to haul some landscaping materials. -
What new tools have you got lately?
The impala trunk smells like China….aluminum 2 ton floor jack, riveter, ferrel nut riveter and a hvlp paint gun. -
Filling small holes without welding
My K20 square box was Swiss cheese. I cut a 1” copper tube about 2” length which I hammered flat. Used that to cover the hole on the backside held with magnets. I converted my 30 amp electric stove circuit to 220 to electrify the MIG welder with 0.023 wire. Holes welded up in 15 seconds or less...- mxer147
