Long Time Lurker and Finally Introducing Myself

Welcome, looking very good! Don’t throw away anything until you’re done with your project. Lots of oem parts available at the recycling yard and online marketplaces. Peruse them as time permits and if you find something you need, don’t hesitate to purchase or someone else will snap it up.

    LMC Dash Pad Supplier

A couple weeks ago I purchased a dash from Jegs since it was discounted $145, ordered dark brown and they delivered black, sent it back and they resent dark brown. The black one arrived in a sealed bag, the brown one did not and it had grinding dust so it appeared used. I called to ask why and...

Can't decide what to do. Suggestions? Thoughts?

Purchase a reasonable $$ similar crate motor with a warranty to switch it out so it’s an easy swap.

What have you done to your square lately??

Sanded on the fenders, rocker panels, and tailgate; might be warm enough to primer next two days. I also drilled the new hole for the old school emblem. I despise sanding too; these old trucks have a lot of surface area.

Please help me solve this riddle

Did a compression check today, cylinders 1, 3, 5 were consistently at 125 psi, cylinders 2, 4, 6 were consistently 145 psi. Is it possible that head gasket 1, 3, 5 is slightly damaged causing lower compression readings?

    Huck's daily - 2005 Z71 crewcab

I replaced the stock stereo with a Kenwood Excelon DPX795BH from crutchfield, along with some JBL speakers because Bose were toast. It was mostly a plug and play install purchasing the wire kits. The center sub was good so left it but I had to find compatible components which the Kenwood and...

    Entering a show on Saturday.

Please share a picture? I’m working on a 1983 K20 custom deluxe and questioning if I want to install the uncomfortable bench seat.

    Entering a show on Saturday.

Agree, very good looking ride! Does the interior look as good as the exterior? Enter as a truck probably less competition and better chance to win. Mingle and take lots of pictures.

This one needs to go, asking for opinions. Offering it up here first.

@ Big Ray would look super cool sporting that around town! Or, he could use it for parts. One can’t buy much for $5k these days. The bigger question is if you stuck the money in it that it needs plus the purchase price, will you get your money back if you decide to sell it. Basket cases are...

FRONT FENDER COWL CAGE NUT Gone

I welded the cage nut to a washer. I then drilled four new holes around the sheet metal where the cage nut belongs. I then put the washered cage nut where it belongs and held it tight with a bolt threaded into the nut. I then welded the four drilled holes since the washer lined up with them. I...

What have you done to your square lately??

I hung the passenger door, welded some on the inner fender lower support and put the rear wheels back on so I could move it back four feet. It’s nice to have the doors back on since they were leaning against my super tenere for the past year. Perhaps I will get a nice afternoon for a ride. I’m...

Opinion thread- 81 silverado grill you like or ?

That’s my led fog light plan. Considering painting my grill and headlights trim white as well. I don’t want to spend $$ on silver paint when I have plenty of white.

What have you done to your square lately??

I’m not restoring it to show condition so I plan to leave my personalized flaws in the paint. Considering it’s a driveway DIY paint job, it looks good enough and should protect the metal for another 10-20 years as it sits outside to weather.

    New Member in Eastern Montana

Those wheels look better on the SB than the 800, in my opinion. I sold my set after the stock tires wore out. They sold pretty quickly for $100 per wheel. I put on some 17” black MTs which I like much better. A couple of the stock wheels clear coat was burning off so they started looking tired...

What have you done to your square lately??

Removed the candy wrappers, still a twenty footer but a five footer in the dark. A couple sags in the white paint and a little cobbly in some areas down low but it still works for me and I am still motivated to getRdone.

What have you done to your square lately??

Pulled some tape/paper and hung the drivers door. I popped both fenders off last week so the doors will be easier to hang.

What have you done to your square lately??

1.25 gallons of Raptor liner and around 0.25 gallons of epoxy primer. I’m sure some of you are cringing that I sprayed it for chip guard on the bed side. It was that or lots of hammering, filling and sanding….. I chose the easy path, I will be spraying gloss white over it as soon as it is...

What have you done to your square lately??

Paper and taped the box sides, washed the bed metal down the with soap and water; assuming no wind, I plan to shoot primer and bed liner tomorrow morning. Let it dry a couple days so I can put it to work to haul some landscaping materials.

    Filling small holes without welding

My K20 square box was Swiss cheese. I cut a 1” copper tube about 2” length which I hammered flat. Used that to cover the hole on the backside held with magnets. I converted my 30 amp electric stove circuit to 220 to electrify the MIG welder with 0.023 wire. Holes welded up in 15 seconds or less...

Best way to transport 19 55 gallon barrels?

Ask a friend or family to come along to drive another truck to help with the transport. Stop someplace nice to share a meal and reminisce about the fall colors, crisp cool air and perhaps share your highlights of the summer.
