Sirius/XM "Roady" with original GM truck radio

This has nothing to do with what you want to do, but I know an electronics nerd that has free Sirius in all 3 of his cars. He buys the radio, subscribes, pulls the radio, cancels the subscription and waits a year. Apparently Sirius pings the unit-specific shut off signal for a year then moves...

What have you done to your square lately??

I mounted the block off panel for all the heater core holes I wont need anymore. Used 3M panel adhesive with 1/8" screws to hold it in place, then used a stud welder to plug the holes once it had set up. Taped off and got about half the seams sealed with 2K seam sealer, including the block off...

    Dual fuel tanks and valves

Best I could find with the rod. I'd get you a new pic but I left it off for the time being until the fuel lines are all connected. Rod goes from the edge of the shield to a 90* tab that attaches it to the frame.

Here's a pic of the aforementioned shield.....can see the holes and get an idea where to hunt for bolts.

What new tools have you got lately?

What new tools have you got lately?

Finally bagged one of these rev-nut tools. Got this one because it has so many sizes - reviews are good too. My buddy says this will create plenty of Kodak moments...lol

    Filling in seams

I dont necessarily find them an eye sore.....but they are kind of cobbled enough I wouldn't mind cleaning them up a bit. If they were to disappear, I doubt anyone would notice. lol

    Filling in seams

I am in no way close to doing anything like this, but was curious if when re-painting your square, if you, or the shop that did it, or maybe one you saw at a show, ever filled in or blended the factory seams, like where the roof meets the A or B pillars? I noticed that my roof is actually offset...

    Cab bottom pics needed

Is that primer or paint? Or both? I'm leaning towards POR15-ing the bottom then spraying it with 3M undercoating. It goes on runny then sets up like a waxy asphalt - very OE like. Really like that dolly with it on its back. THX :hat:

    Cab bottom pics needed

Does anyone have a pic of their SB cab on its back showing the bottom? There are several holes underneath but I'm trying to locate the actual mount holes. My cab is on a dolly - I think the cab is sitting on the mount holes - dunno - cant quite tell. I need to make stands to get it off the dolly...

    First time "real" painting.

Funny - one body shop tells me 180 (on a DA) - then I went to the shop I bought everything at and they said 320. Guy who owns the place had his own shop for 35 yrs - said to mud over 320 scuffed epoxy will work fine, but since I have no heated shop, he wouldn't do it til I was ready to put high...

    First time "real" painting.

Good luck Marty - sorry for the derailment pal....it happens alot. I never intended on a nut-bolt resto. Truck was a mess when I got it. Other than a solid bod, everything else was a wash. SRO says my brakes are JB7 but it had JB6 calipers on it complete with a master cyl from an 87 Hurst Olds...

    First time "real" painting.

At this point, I'm considering letting it sit til Spring, then having it stripped....again.....and planning on the bondo to metal circus, painting in one day, maybe a whole different primer and just go from there. Sanding the large flat areas is no big deal but the firewall is a PITA - why I...

    First time "real" painting.

Sounds like regardless of the bare metal vs primer for bondo argument.....if you use epoxy you're almost forced to use bondo on bare metal in order to get it into paint ASAP. Seems like too much of a PITA to ever use it again.
