Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

Oh, maybe I could attach that shield to the pump somehow instead of the muffler.... I'll have to think on that some.

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

That's actually a really good point. I've towed my 18' trailer a handful of times when staying very locally with my 96' Jeep GC when I was going somewhere I knew maneuverability would be problematic. It has one single pipe out the back and yea she'll fumigate you during trailer hook up. I got...

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

Yea, that's the thing on my current single exhaust I'm running a Walker SoundFX and it's the Walker OEM replacement for the truck and they list an SoundFX for the duel setup. No doubt the turbos will flow better, I just don't know how much of a trade off there is in sound. Well I've got the...

    350 Water Pump Woes

Not using any of the modern flushes. In the old days there use to be a powdered radiator flush that was an acid, and after running one of those you had to put in a neutralizer. That stuff went away when aluminum radiators came along because it would eat right though them.

    Mpg to expect on an '82 C20 3+3, 350?

I completely agree with this: And no car payment for the square, cheaper tabs, cheaper insurance, lower repair cost...

    Mpg to expect on an '82 C20 3+3, 350?

I don't know if I'll be very helpful but this is what I have in the mileage department. First of I think it sucks when someone is asking about miles per gallon and someone posts a response that it doesn't matter..... Gas mileage! My 1984 C20 305 700R4 3.73 truck. I get right around 12...

What did you pay for a square

I did not take it that way at all, but I was serious when I said I did not like the color my truck is initially, but it has grown on me and now I do like it. Kind of like years ago I had a silver Toyota, I thought that was an awful color until I drove it for a while and realized the advantages...

    Cowl Screen

I have trees literally everywhere on the farm (it's a bird farm so no fields) and yea the needles from the evergreen trees get literally everywhere. I think that needles getting into the cowling, unchecked for years, and years where they rot in there, I think that's a big cause of rot in that...

How Best to Clear Fender and Cowl Drains?

For the cowl drain, I'd take the wipers and cowl off. The cowling drains are huge so they'll be easy to clean out and you can blow those if you so desire. For the windshied drains I've run a wire down them to clear them out. If you use air do it carefully. If your windshield gasket and...

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

Well I wouldn't have to ever worry about hearing the engine pinging! In all seriousness though two things I'm going to do. If I can have the dual exhaust system be quiet enough for me, I'll be putting cats on as soon as I can afford it, like the first part of December. And the other thing...

What did you pay for a square

I didn't think tan or cream or whatever shade of off white you want to call my truck. Nicotine stain beige is not my preferred description of the color lol. Well I didn't like the color when I bought it but what I've come to love about the color is that it has all the benefits of white...

    Bilstein Shocks Bushing/Sleeve Question

I have not read though the entire thread so I'm not really sure of all the details, but I'm going to write a little and maybe someone will find use in it. @Grit dog sorry about taking so long to see the tags, my power went out last night at 1AM and just came back on around 5. My opinion on...

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

Yea right even that would probably be enough on the fuel lines at least for right now.

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

I didn't even talk about it in my other post. I'm missing my tank switch cover, well the truck was a factory single tank truck so actually never had one. I'm less concerned about the tank switch valve, proximity to the exhaust than I am the dump bed pump, mainly because the DB pump will likely...

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

Ok so I'm just going to pull something in from another thread. When I did the transmission last year I was going to do the exhaust at the same time, because I knew it was getting to be time and it would be down anyway, but it didn't pan out in terms of time or money. So one of the concerns at...

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

I use to get down to Portland pretty frequently but not anymore.... To quiet for you might be just right for me! We shall see, thanks for that info.

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

Ok, so I think at this point I'm going to go ahead and try the turbos and see how I feel about them. The mufflers are here, but the pipe kit won't be here until Monday, so hopefully I'll be able to get going on this Monday later in the day or Tuesday. And I will let you all know how the...

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

Not really any wrecking yards left in the area and the few that are charge so much it's ridiculous. I keep telling myself on one of my feed runs that I'll make a wrecking yard list. The last one where I went over to Richland would have been ideal, but at that point I'd almost have to stay...

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

The crush bends are fine for the 305 and if I get 350 under the hood eventually it won't be wild so I'm not concerned with that, but is a worthy point for any future readers. I don't mind if there is some exhaust noise when stepping into the gas, but normal driving I don't want it to be a...

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

Thanks that's just what I wanted to hear, at least at this point I feel like it is worth while to try the turbos.

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

@CalSgt Thanks. Keep in mind with the pricing I'm getting is wholesale, so those $20 turbos I'm getting are $39 retail, still cheap by todays standards. If I can talk over the turbos and listen to the radio without the exhaust interfering I'll be happy. I've heard some Flowmasters that I've...

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

So I'm about to replace my exhaust systems. I like what I have quite a bit, but it's falling apart. Unfortunately I'm on a tight budget as I need to do rear brakes on the truck and bunch of front end work on the wife's minivan. So I need to replace it as cheaply as possible. So what I...

    Engine Carbon Cleaning

ACDelco X66-A follow the instructions on the can. Then run it until it quits smoking and do the water treatment like @Matt69olds describes. That's my method and it's pretty darn good.

gas gauge goes back an forth when im moving.

It's the long narrow unbaffled tanks. There is a resistor on the back of the IP cluster which reduces the movement but does not cure it. Even a properly working gauge in our truck will have some movement.

    Sea Foam

I've used it yes, but it's not my favorite product. If your looking for a product to apply directly to the carburetor I like ACDelco X-66A The ultimate in direct decarbonization is X-66A followed by 8oz of water slowly drizzled into the carburetor at 1,500RPM. If your looking for a pour into...
