    Huck's daily - 2005 Z71 crewcab

I thought about that, and then forgot about it, and then thought about it again after I got the motor in lol. I *think* they've been replaced before, they look newer and the hoses are definitely newer. I'm gonna pull my best ViceGrip and pretend I didn't think about it lol

    Body repair panels

Yep, that's me. Thankfully our stuff comes from Taiwan and we have a much better trade relationship with them. There will likely be other factors that cause some price increases (container costs being the main one) but thankfully we have alot of stock in house right now and with it coming from...

Nah. I've got new UCAs/LCAs to go on with the level kit, it'll get that in the next few days as well lol

What would you pay for this truck?

Thanks! I'd never seen this combo before in my life and fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I've since seen several more but I'd say this is in the top 5 rarest color combos for squares

Small but important progress after work yesterday. Got underneath to measure the gap from the converter to the flexplate, it was not quite 3/16". Circle D specs 1/8-3/16" being acceptable and my 3/16" drill bit wouldn't even go all the way between the pad on the converter and the flexplate so I...

I *JUST* grazed it one of the times I was lowering it and had it spun a bit to clear something on the harness, talk about pucker lol. Thankfully it was ok, barely even made a mark

    Body repair panels

Exactly. We're so far removed from when these trucks were new, so many guys expect the panel to fall right on with no extra work and have a perfect gap like a modern truck does. They forget these things were barely one step above tractors as far as fit and finish goes when they were new

Is the polished/chrome tailgate cap stock, on my 87.

Yeah, the OBS tailgate is a good bit thicker than the squares. It'd be a super loose fit

    Motor mount questions

Yeah I believe the lower mounts are for the I6, IIRC the pan will hit on a V8 in the lower holes

What would you pay for this truck?

Idk, I bought the truck after it was cut. The guy I got it from bought it out of a barn, had it cut down, paint spotted in and clear coated and lowered on TT2s by the time I found it for sale. A buddy of mine found a picture of it on their FB page pre-cut And this is one of the pictures from...

What would you pay for this truck?

Yeah it's not terrible. But the way they did the truck above mine is better cuz the front cut ends up on the front corner so you only have to worry about warping the rear area when re-welding. Overall they did a good job other than cutting it 1/4-3/8" short lol

This is exactly why my GF has a fullsize truck and wants a 4x4 when we build her a square. She's 5' 2" and likes to sit up high, she feels like she can't see well driving my C10 or my previous Fusion I had.

What would you pay for this truck?

^That's the correct way to do it. My truck, they made the cut ~4" or so back from the head board and then the one at the back was ~6" or so behind the wheel tubs. They just made straight cuts, if you catch my truck in the right light at the right angle, you can see it on the outside of the...

Then swung it up and in Slowly… Slowly… Had to do some sketchy stuff to get the hoist off the engine lol Got it all bolted up to the transmission, engine mount bolts in about halfway, hooked up all the brackets, grounds and wiring connectors at the back of the heads/valley. That’s where...

The tap didn’t come in till Saturday afternoon so I didn’t work on the truck till today. First thing’s first, took about 20min to carefully and slowly work through those messed up threads. Used some oil and cleaned out with brake clean/air a couple times. Worked like a charm! So Friday my...

What have you done to your square lately??

Nothing fancy, warshed it. It was NASTY, don’t think it’s been washed in like 5500mi/4-5mo

    LED Grille Lights

I *think* these are the ones. It's been 4+ years but looking back through my Amazon, this was around that time https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RQCHBH5/

    Scored Another One -Pushbar

Looking at the picture again, that bumper contour sure does look like a '73-80 Chevy. Maybe they intended you to drill your bumper? Or maybe the tabs were moved by someone in the past?

    Scored Another One -Pushbar

Welp, gotta go fish. It's not the Ford, I just measured. They're alot wider than the Chevy's, 31 3/4" center to center of the top bumper bolts

    Scored Another One -Pushbar

Yeah left looks like '81-up square. Right, I'm gonna guess late '70s Ford. They have bolts on top of the bumper

    LED Grille Lights

I've just got some Amazon special LED bulbs in my stock parking lights. Wired in a 50ohm resistor and they work fine. My whole truck is LED

Welp. Very little progress tonight. Galled up the threads trying to reinstall the balancer. So a tap and a proper installer has been ordered. Guess my luck ran out. I've done several of these just sucking them back on with the crank pulley. Should've known better. Oh well.

Didn't do much yesterday, just installed the pushrods and rockers. I'd ordered these Melling chromoly pushrods a while back off RockAuto but goofed and only ordered 12. Well then I found this kit of Melling pushrods on Amazon much cheaper so I ordered it thinking it was the same, but these were...
