Not sure if there still in business but I had bobs transmissions build 2 for me when I lived down there. Last one built in 2003 and it just gave up last month.- Derick C.

Sounds like you need to find a better trans shop. I have a 700r behind a 454 and tow 5k lbs on a regular basis with no issues. They can be great transmissions if built right.- Derick C.

Yes. If that return fluid gets up to 190 to 200 it time to back off a little- Derick C.

Get as much as you can, better to have it and not need it. get the entire engine harness as you may need to change a few pigtails and the oil pressure sender on the 454 is on the front lower driver side of the block instead of by the distributor like the 350, so you will have to extend the wires...- Derick C.

My suburban is 90 and the 454 came out of a 91 1 ton truck The trans has the beast sunshell, hd bands and clutches, corvette servo, new planetary set, new main shaft, and shift kit, there could be more but I don't know transmissions that well.- Derick C.

Mine runs just fine with the 350 computer and the built 700r4. I used all the sensors from the 350 so I didn't need to change any pigtails- Derick C.

383 Vortec/TBI Build Thread
Still using the mostly stock tbi, I change the spring in the fuel pressure regulator to bump up the pressure, put in a wide band gauge and have been running fine. A chip might help but air fuel ratio is fine so I haven't worried about it.- Derick C.

700R4 cooler for a 4L80E trans?
I use this same trans cooler on both my trucks. Made my own lines, the feed line goes to the radiator then to the cooler before returning to the trans.- Derick C.
