that picture of your front core support mount and the one of the front cab mount is exactly how the back cab mounts have to be those steel cups with a rubber bushing inside or polyurethane ones.
I had to get some for the 83 I had, thought they were missing but found em later. I know lmc has...
yes there's a metal cup with a bushing that sits on top of the frame and a cupped washer and bushing under the frame and bolt going thru them all. It's the same for the front cab mounts and then you have the radiator support ones as well.
I did the exact same thing on my 88 tbi block. I had everything ordered, cleaned, honed ready and BAM no go.
I called up summit and had em send me the right rings, got em in worked perfectly.
we were discussing that since he was trying to get down and get some parts for him and those bedsides for me, but he didn't want to say anything since he's not sure when he'll actually be able to get there.
ah ok see I was thinking bed rails as in top sides of the bed box be it step or fleet and some call the caps the bed rails, as above stainless or diamond plate and tape on or whatever.
I was going to say i wished someone hadn't drilled big like 7/16 or so holes down my top bed rails for a...
ok I gotta ask what's bed rails? Just the top of the bed sides? stepside thing only? The cross sills or supports under it? Or the aftermarket covers for the top of the bed like diamond plate or stainless?
I'm already figuring that's going to happen best I saw on original 40's was like 70-80 per muffler. That's fine christmas is coming up LOL, Hey wife.....
I just bought exhaust for mine, waiting for the collectors to come in to make it happen.
I've got flowtech 4wd headers, they tuck tight to the floor and not hang down like most, and they only have a 2.5 collector. I need new ones as they are small stock like 2.5 collector down to 2 inch pipes...
I think I can see a front bumpstop and it's close to hitting sitting stil? Maybe try and get a pic of the front of it.
Aso how close is the axle tube to the frame or bumpstop looked like maybe those were cut off but might be close to hitting the frame or actually is hitting.
anyone interested in buying this or trading me a good shape short bed 4wd for it? I'm looking at one local they want 3k for it and needs a lil work so thinking of selling this with the interior out and buying that squarebody or trading.
I figured so, just some ppl have their own likes and dislikes figured I'd ask.
It's kind of like the old fram filter thing, most hate them and say they are junk, we ran em for years never had any problems. I wanted to make sure I wasn't missin anything.
I also agree on the cam, I just hear...
nice work I wanna hear that cam run.
I wonder will it work with stock pushrods and rockers?
Also what's wrong with fel pro head gaskets? I run em and like em or you just mean it shows someone has been into it before?
I know mine had been because my crank was turned .010 both rods and mains...
HA I'm too deep into it to take that kind of loss. I sold one with probably less rot to Andy, and gave away a lifted square with some frame cracks and floor rot for this so gotta stop at some point and fix something.
I've came close alot of times. Mostly due to me not being able to get things...
you know hoestnly I plan on using the chassis saver silver, as it has more alum. fiers to help fill in like pits and such, should work nice for my shit welds, grinds and rust it has.
I also want to do something like a raptor liner or at least undercoating under the bottom. The top I'm fine with...
well after alot of issues trying to weld and get anything done plus health issues, and trying to do alot of things around the house, kids school, grass cutting mine and old man's, working on the wife's daily, and all that other BS...
nice I want to get an aftermarket intake for mine. I'd love a rpm air gap but I hear they won't clear the shaker and hood without some modification, which to me might be worth it.
My biggest struggle with engine for mine is do I build a sbc or the olds?
which one is cheapest, which is sbc of...
yessir the coal mines around here, and then having them for this use works well. What doesn't work well or didn't for me, was outside in the yard with rain, maybe it was grease and oil or maybe grass clippings or something but man I busted my ass several times walking on them when wet.
Here...
you can see em scattered around here I've got several. I used these outside under my other truck in the yard before moving here, and brought them here to use in the garage since it's dirt floor.
They are just conveyor belts from the old mines when they tore and had to change or even shut down.
I know what you mean and yea mine are thinner they would crack easy.
I've seen guys take 2 concrte blocks, liquid nail them together, and then use like 3/4 plywood or so on the top and bottom of them and use em in the dirt, or even fill them with quikrete.
The ones I had are just like sidewalk...
