    1953 Chevy 3100

My son in law just sent these to me. 7 year project that is finally completed. He was raked over the coals on a lot of the work IMO. His truck, his money. Haven’t seen it in person yet. He just got this back from paint and they rode around last night. The truck is in Newcastle for the moment at...

Vapor lock with deadhead regulator on heat soaked motor

That’s just not vapor lock as I know it. I usually don’t respond to these kind of posts but thought I would state the obvious. Seems like people need help on stuff but are vague is describing all the symptoms. And it seems they also usually forget to mention they “messed” with it or what they...

    Thinks shes gunna blow!

For me, it’s hard to hear the true sound. But doesn’t sound like it’s an internal issue. Hope not anyways.

Vapor lock with deadhead regulator on heat soaked motor

I’m no mechanic, but seems to me if you were experiencing vapor lock it would die and wouldn’t restart until things cooled off. At least, in my cases, that was what happened. Stumbling could be one of several things. My setup is the usual supply line in, then out of the pump, thru a filter, then...

What have you done to your square lately??

While the hood was open thought might as well start cleaning. Looking at the front carb, you can see the blue (junk) cap. That’s the cap that split on the rear. All cleaned up now, but nowhere to go.

What have you done to your square lately??

I’ve picked up almost 200 rpm for about a week now. Started looking around, sprayed a shot of carb cleaner here and there but didn’t have any luck. Finally found the problem. On the back carb under the referenced power valve port. Looked good in appearance and guessing the other line was...

    supercharging your truck for cheap

This should be considered funny stuff on the internet:anitoof:. Meant to be set aside for killing time. Never seen this one and had to go thru the entire read. Some of the BS that’s out there. Sorry HRPC. https://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/supercharging-your-truck-for-cheap.9165/

    Best sounding squarebody mufflers?

Quoting an old post, but I agree with it. Sorta like asking 10 people what’s the best tasting beer. Possible 10 different answers. And exhaust video clips are misleading as well. I’ve heard cars in person and heard them on video. They usually sound totally different when compared. IMO, they...

What have you done to your square lately??

Gots y’all a few pics from today. Finally got it in and mounted once the din cable was hooked up. Shifter mounted and wired up. Shift cable ran and hooked up. Adjustment is close enough until I can raise the rear and run thru the gears under power. Starts in gear and neutral only...check. Backup...

Thanks. I’m semi pleased with it. I know where the flaws are:rolleyes:. Kinda out of my skill set on this. Counting on the shifter drawing the eye away from them.

What have you done to your square lately??

Yeah, I know.....just not much to see here. The blues still need to be connected to the crossover. The din wire should be here tomorrow to connect the right amp to the crossover, along with the RCA cable to extend the crossover to the stereo. Then I can get the wires tucked away. The wiring...

What have you done to your square lately??

Made a little time today for my console/shifter project. Drilled and grommeted a 7/8 hole in the tranny tunnel for the shifter cable. Made up a harness for the trans brake, neutral safety switch, reverse lights, and shifter light. Placed the under dash connections where they go for when the time...
