    That has to be too tight. I would at least adjust it so the wheel turns easily and let the park brake work as crappy as it wants to. If the pads drag that will heat up the pads and rotor and drag even more and just cause headaches.

    Most square bodies with 3:08's easily rev past 3k in 3rd gear. I'd say it is leaning out for whatever reason. When mine lost the fuel pump lobe it wouldn't rev but I can't remember where it was topping out. My fuel pressure was 1 1/2 psi though.

    I bought a nice class 5 on etrailer.com. I can't remember the brand but I wanted the B&W and settled for the cheaper one. It's still a beefy beast. I don't know if there is something unique about the 89 r3500 though. etrailer.com has the best selection at the best prices.
