    Harbor Freight Tool/Product Review

My tractor AC was blowing hot air the other day and when I put the gauges on it it was low on sauce so I got some r134 to add. Added that up and found I had a leak on the low side at the compressor. Anyway, I have an excuse to try out the harbor freight vacuum pump before I recharge it. I got...

    Looking to buy... But it's a 72

Around here 11k would be a going price for that truck. I wouldn't pay that for it though. My issues with it are the paint color, the black grill and painted bumpers with that paint color, those mirrors look like they came from a junkyard datsun, and that fuel cell ruins the bed for doing truck...

    Under hood heat

You can shim up the rear of the hood and let heat out. You mentioned XJs that is what I did with mine. It was fine until you were in the woods so I just made some .5-.75 inch shims and used a longer hood bolt. Makes the whole thing sort of like a scoop. Looks a bit strange but lets heat out...

    5/7 drop??

The rear has a flip kit for sure and those are stock length shackles. The bed support has been cut for longer ones like you get in the shackle hanger kit so they may have wanted to go lower in the back and decided against that or had no idea what they were doing. Neither of those will effect the...

    Rear shocks after flip kit.

Take it back apart and put the bolt through the other way. With the shock bottom in there preferably and take it back apart when it needs shocks again. Mine was close but I made it work. Best pic I have of it but you can see I had just enough room.

    1978 grill and headlight trim

Does this mean that with some simple craft work a van grill will fit a truck?

There was one really custom truck I got a few pics of.

    Somernites Cruise

I went to the truck showcase this month at the cruise. There were at least 600 trucks and over 900 total at the last count I heard around 3. I got some pics of a few squares for you guys. There were a bunch there. LS swaps, big blocks, 4*4s, you name it.

    Vapor Lock issue?

My 69 will boil the fuel in the carb if I have to let it sit and idle a long time. Only happens after I shut it off. I am going to try some fuel that doesn't have ethanol in it to see if the boiling point is raised enough to not be a problem. It gets hot enough that the pressure in the float...

Well the problem is revealed. Not sure if I did that or my new part was garbage. Looks we'll be trying the 50 year old accelerator pump this weekend. Now to find out why the float is sticking occasionally...

    69 GMC C-15

Alright after dreaming about this one all night I decided to climb under the hood this morning and see if the pump would trigger a stream of fuel and it doesn't. So that is my issue, or the float bowl got empty overnight and there was nothing to squirt. Either way, I took it back off and will...

I've got a feeling my new accelerator pump is bad and it's going to have to come back off in favor of the old one. I have a weird cold start flooding problem too I need to figure out. Once it's warm it does alright if you can live without that pump shot on punching it.

Alright guys watch that second video and tell me what I've done here. I think it's worse than before. It starts great cold. But after the choke turns off it starts flooding like the float has stuck. So bad it can die. You can hear the bowl drain into the intake. Give it a few and it'll start...

School Me on Front End Parts

It surely is. I used a ball joint press and a regular 20 ton press and an air chisel and a torch and it goes forever lol

Yeah too far from me even if he was fair on the price so I didn't bother calling. Now I am starting to get curious enough to call though. lol

Pick the fav car you owned but follow instructions:

My top 4 won't knock anyone's socks off like some of the previous. In this order is how I would rank them. 4: 93 Chevy C-10 Stepside - This truck was a 4.3L with a 5 speed but had the Silverado trim so was pretty cool. 3: 93 Mustang Coupe - This car had the 2.3L 5 speed car which I put an old...

    Help with cam selection

I have a set of 186 heads which are pretty similar to those you mentioned. My local machine shop quoted me $400 to put hardened seats on the exhaust side, check them for cracks and grind the valves and stuff so they were read for a new install. Your machine shop may be different but wanted to...

Not sure this fits this thread but if any of you are near this guy it might be a good source of parts. I didn't call but he's in PA advertised down here in KY. https://eastky.craigslist.org/pts/d/new-kensington-california-square-bodys/6929605876.html

Maybe these links will work. Timing is around 5-6 degree advanced at idle. Interestingly with the vacuum advanced connected or not it didn't really change. https://photos.app.goo.gl/FY3kbniygnB5zkmQ7 This what happens when you whack it open fast. https://photos.app.goo.gl/A1BH2ePaHdgueczy6...

Well I still haven't found the problem but it does have a real hesitation if you whack the throttle open real fast. Revs good if you roll into it though. Probably need to check my plugs after the super rich conditions from the flooding before. Also found my new filter gasket leaks but the old...

Still on the stock dizzy and I have not checked the dwell. I replaced the points and condensor in 2011 maybe. That could be my issue but it's not had 3k miles put on it in that time. After the carb rebuild and it was still doing it I started to think it might be in the spark side of things too.

It appears that driver comfort was the last thing on this builders mind when designing this heap. That wheel and those pedals? How awful. I have a set of those seats too and they suck real bad. Why not make the cage worth while by putting some braces down to the bed since it already has the top...
