Well, I did it again with changing horses in the middle of the creek ! Not getting the above oil pan .. Going with a Mercruiser boat oil pan instead ... Reason is it having grooves that will be somewhat of a match to the valve covers .. Holds about the same amount of oil .. Will be...- dragstews

Fri 51° 30° Don't look like I'll be doing much work . Do have a super big space heater that stinks the shop up really well .. I'm going to find a warm spot and hibernate till it warms up into the 70's ......- dragstews

Throttle cable bracket came in .. The need was for three cables, throttle, cruise and TPS .... Found one that was close to meeting the needs .. A little fab work and all is good ...- dragstews

Found a pump, it got rebuilt and powder coated .. The SBC motor has a double groove pulley. The BBC required a single groove .. Soon will be nailing down the custom brackets ..- dragstews

Got a used 750 cfm carb off of Facebook marketplace ... Took it apart for a looksee and cleanup ... Going to kit it ... Also got my eye on a four bolt main 454 block ... Wanting to jump the cubes to 496 inch .. The motor I have is a two bolt ... Kind of stockpiling choice parts till I'm ready...- dragstews

Sometimes ya don't .. The Fellow sold it while I was doing the PayPal payment ... Oh-well It's to shiny for me anyways .. (Was planning to plaint it) Did get a pump, got a cast aluminum finish on it ... It will suit the needs ...- dragstews

The motor came with a Oem long water pump .. It's not needed for the gig I have going on now with the custom A/C & Alt. brackets, they require the use of a short pump .. Been checking out what's available, the Oem pumps were cast iron and are fairly reasonable priced .. Thought was to get one...- dragstews

Thanks ^ Heads that's on it are the peanut port .. Found a set of 049 oval ports .. They are going to see some work done to em before swapping the heads (O/S valves, stem O.D. 11/32", bowl, ports and chambers work, springs matched to the cam grind) The intake has the oval ports ... Trying my best to low-ball this motor built .. Doing pretty good doing so .. Here's how that's going .. I had a set of front bumper guards off of a 57 Chevy pickup on my truck for years, being I went to the "Dagmar" guards didn't have a need for them any more .. Found a carb that would fit the motor build real well .. It's a Holley BR-67319 750 CFM Brawler Street Vacuum Secondary .. Kind of up there in price, brand new from Bowling Green Ky. I'm going to see if I can run up on a used one, that might be hard to do cause these hadn't been on the...- dragstews
