Search for a spare 15-inch wheel or two

Yes this is something we would have to ask when people were buying parts. I remembered that and was just about to make a post....you saved me the trouble!

Search for a spare 15-inch wheel or two

Yup. As mentioned, the 71-up full size GM cars(and 2wd pickups) had the 5x5 bolt circle lug pattern, due to the adoption of disc brakes across the platform. IIRC the pattern even extends to the 91-96 Impala SS and Roadmaster; Impala SS wheels are a popular model for the OBS trucks.

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

Same thing in the more working class parts of the greater Houston area. OBS GM trucks are on every street....of course I notice them more, and squares too when I see them, cause I have history with these trucks..... And I see fixed up OBS trucks, and others that are just "patina'd" and still...

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

Yup...same thing happens with toys/diecast/figures/etc. If you're going to get premium $$$ for something, it has to be in mint condition, perfect package, all accessories there.... I had a bunch, over a hundred pieces, of Hot Wheels and other primo cars, get damp at a show several years ago...

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

I tell people all the time.... there is someone out there who wants what you have, it's just a matter of, are you willing to wait until y'all cross paths? Online shopping has helped here, but it's still a crapshoot. And asking for a certain price, and getting that price, are two VERY different...

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

We bought it for $375, I think Dad talked the guy down from $400. This was around 81-83..... I think the friend who sold it for us got around $2500 for it. He took several pieces of ours to Pate Swap Meet in 2016, to sell for us to have the money....for past due taxes.

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

We had to sell it and other stuff to pay bills.... Mom cried because Dad bought that for her. Also had a huge Piggly Wiggly porcelain sign that Dad bought for my brother when he was little.

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

I remember back in the 70s, my Dad was in the local chapter of the Classic Chevy Club(55-56-57). The reprint manuals had just become available and guys were "sunning" them on the dashboard, to make them look older. Back when print media was how most of Americans got their information, the...

Search for a spare 15-inch wheel or two

The vans used the 15x7 IIRC, most of the pickups had 15x8 Rallyes. I have a complete set of the 15x8 truck Rallyes available for sale.... This is one, the other three still have the Bowtie emblem on the center caps IIRC. This is the "deeper" trim rings mentioned. I also have one of the 15x6.5...

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

Beautiful stuff! We could have a nice long chat about the Mobil and Magnolia signs and stuff my family used to have.....back in the early 80s we bought a Mobil Pegasus sign from the side of a building, was so big we had to take some of the leg and tail pieces off to fit it in the bed of the 78...

If you go on www.gmt400.com there are many threads there on the 8.1, and many members have them in their trucks. They ain't cheap though, but will seriously pull a house....

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

There are guys who come to some of the bigger swap meets in Texas, that have the "salvage" highway and street signs...great stuff but I have things I want to spend my limited $$$ on worse. And I could paint a sign with the highway logo on it, and it's just fine on my wall and cost me only time...

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

I love looking through the old ads; we have crates of them that we used to take to every swap meet and car show we could get to(this is how we got so many square body Burbs, hauling this stuff!). Back then there was some real art in advertising, and all this stuff was laid out by hand and drawn...

Nice finds! Last Chance Garage seems like something I've seen in the "aftermarket" like in an antique shop. Willys service one looks authentic. Globe one looks like a repro too, the lettering just looks "off". It's hard to describe, but lettering and typeface/font used on something like this, if...

    New Super Square…

That IS a bit of rake....since it's a 2wd I'd figure the front coils probably haven't been changed (and if they are originals, saggy after 37 years). My OBS Crew Cab longbed has a little bit of rake but not that much....

Brand new Hydroboost unit pedal pushing back

You probably need to bleed it some more. The recommended procedure is to turn the wheel lock to lock, like three times, then stomp on the brake pedal twice, hold each time and then release it. My mechanic neighbor and I did this for about 5-6 hours, over two evenings, to get the hydro boost unit...

    Hello First Post/First Squarebody

The roof rack looks like what our 75,77,79 and 84 Burbs had. Factory as far as I know, we bought them all used over a period of years. The 90 Burb was barn doors instead of a tailgate, and had no roof rack or third row seat. The running boards are aftermarket, but many square body Burbs and...
