Truck no work need 2 work.

If this truck still has the "big cap" HEI distributor, those are noted for burning up the coil and the module or pickup coil, if the rotor burns through. It can still run if this happens... just maybe not real well. Here are a couple of pictures of my neighbor Paul's 84 Caprice, when this...

What new tools have you got lately?

I wanted to get more stuff, but a lot of what they had was things I already have or don't need. And they got over $300 of my bux for part of the guy's dad's toy car collection.... including this: (Drool all ya want, it's already sold.....) These were rare when they were released in 2008, and...

What new tools have you got lately?

I got a bunch of sockets, a couple of ratchets and a few other odds'n'ends at a friend of a friend's yard sale last month, for $10. Almost all the sockets were brand new snap on and both the ratchets were American made Craftsman. Super deal!

What new tools have you got lately?

Looks like a place that Mom would not want me to go, if I had any $$ because I wouldn't have any when she got me outta there.... Dad would have enjoyed it.

    2025 Midwest Truck Nationals

Looks like a fun time was had by all....that red one with the wide whitewalls (nope not my jam!) was "interesting" but the rest of em look like trucks I would have enjoyed looking closer at. That Willoway Green 75-76 GMC being a familiar looking face to be sure.... Dad's 75 Sierra Classic was...

What have you done to your square lately??

I actually like both of them! The GMC lettering in this era (73-80) seems to me to be a color like the Chevy engine orange, a reddish orange. Dad had a 75 Sierra Classic and our parts store had a 78 Sierra and an 81 Sierra shop trucks. So I'm quite familiar with the logos! IIRC the factory...

Well, don't love the F'd up door but I LOVE the rest of em! Wish I could afford to take enough days off to go to some truck shows.....

    2025 Midwest Truck Nationals

I haven't seen one of those gas mileage tally wheels in decades.... Used to be pretty handy before everyone had a calculator in their smartphone.

What have you done to your square lately??

Looks like the #1127 on the Camper Special, #1103 red(which is somewhat orangey) on the GMC.

    Old77’s GMT400 SWB 4x4 5-speed project/DD

I worked for a company for several years that had a few of the Chevy/GMC G20 vans, with TBI 350s. Had to do a thermostat, water outlet and tune up on one of em and it had center bolt covers. These were late 80s vans, and this was in the late 90s when I did the service work on this one. Once you...

What have you done to your square lately??

On the smaller emblems I usually use model car enamel, thinned a little bit so it flows better. On the larger emblem or the hubcap, I would mask it off and spray the color; that's pretty much how the factory did it.

Scores from DIY Parts Yards, Pull A Part, U Pull It etc

There is a great diner near the Northside Houston LKQ, and the SW Houston one is about 5 minutes from home. That frosty beer looks good on Friday afternoon though, I gotta admit!

Looks like it still has good hinge tabs too, SCORE! These are bad about breaking those tabs if the lid gets mis aligned. I have one of these factory in my Crew Cab, got one to go in Burb once I get his front end sorted out. Gotta change the washer bottle and pump on both trucks and this box sits...

Anyone ever seen a sun roof in a Square body

Mom's Pacifica had a sunroof from the factory (VERY well optioned car) and we made that mistake of leaving it open once..... We were working at a grocery store in the summer, parked out by the edge of the lot. Popped it open some to let the heat get out; while we were in the store, it rained...

Anyone ever seen a sun roof in a Square body

Sucks that some dummy hacked up a manual transmission tilt column... those are pretty rare IIRC.

    Yo! from Wyo

Welcome from Houston, Texas, nice Burb! Friend of mine in high school had a 78-79 Burb in this color combo.

    Can Anyone Identify These Mirrors?

Yankee brand used to make a lot of aftermarket mirrors and taillights. Most parts stores carried them, back in the day.... looks similar to some Yankee mirrors I remember us stocking.

    Is this a square body?

The OBS trucks are generally considered to be the '88-'98, with carryover models till the early Aughts, GMT 400 trucks. Like these examples in my driveway.....

Latest Lost Cause Project: 1979 Z28

WOW...the calipers I've gotten from O'Reilly's for my trucks had a gray paint on them, I don't think it's just clear over bare steel. Cause as humid as Houston is, that would be rusty in 15 minutes...

Friday the 4th, the local LKQ's had a 50% off sale like on Memorial Day weekend, but just the one day. Headed across Houston (that yard has more trucks than the other two, with stuff I want) and paid my $5 to get in. Lots more people there than the last time, had to stand in line! Last time, I...

    Small window square?

When they were built, those parts would have still been available, or in inventory.... Medium duty trucks are produced in such smaller numbers than the regular pickups and SUVs.

    Hello from Missouri!

Welcome from Houston, Texas, that looks much like the '81 GMC Sierra shop truck we had for our parts store. Ours was a long bed though, but same color of metallic brown. Tan vinyl interior? Ours was. Our truck had a 305 two barrel that worked just as hard as the older one with the 350 4 barrel.
