Flex time here....and yes I daily this and can prove it with the gas slips lol Since I've gotten it on the road, I've put on 1450 miles, 132 gallons of fuel and about $400 spent on that fuel, but worth every smile and thumbs up this baby gets on the road.- 83Stepper

Nobody warned me about the MPGs on these square bodies!
I get a lot of smiles per gallon, if that counts lol. But yeah I've got a spreadsheet that I track my mpg, all maintenance and repairs as well. How do I bypass the factory radio completely so I can just listen through Bluetooth?
If you want to just bypass the original radio and don't want to cut up the dash, you can do like @Rustisbest mentioned and just use that bluetooth amp and wire in 2 speakers. Mind the fact that you'll only be getting 2 channels out of it like either fronts or just rears. Or as @Ricko1966...- 83Stepper

C10 Motor/Frame Mounts
Like @Ricko1966 suggested, check to make sure there isn't a small body lift in it or that somebody didn't "chuck a puck" in with the existing body mount. The front clip and radiator definitely does seem to be higher than it should in correlation to the fan. Nice looking truck btw!- 83Stepper

How bad is the top of the number 8 piston? And did you do a shot of the entire bore to see if the gasket was still visible around it or just by the plug? If that much oil is dumping onto the piston in #8, there's something more than just a head gasket that's going on with it. If I were you...- 83Stepper

Heater Hose Routing
Nope it won't work with the hoses going from the water pump top and the radiator. Those are basically both return hoses and you'll never get any water pushing through the heater core like it should. Ask me how I know lol. The feed hose (5/8" hose from heater core) goes to the intake manifold...- 83Stepper

They're only the 2wd ones, but came out decent enough I think... For a set of daily drivers, think they came out pretty decent. Just a little elbow grease, #0000 steel wool and Wenol polish. -

Same with hearing of the XLT package. Know they make the SL, SLE, SLT-1/2 and Denali packages but never heard of an XLT package. Then again don't trust everything you read and see on the interwebz too. Been deceived a few times thanks to the Googs machine lol.- 83Stepper

Where do these wires go?
"That" orange wire on his is probably for the combination/proportioning valve on the brake system. Thought those were normally tan iirc. From the look of that boot on the orange wire, look as if it's for an electric oil pressure sending unit. Does your dash have an oil pressure gauge or light...- 83Stepper

Definitely start here. If you've got juice there, check at the bulkhead connector in the engine bay side with it disconnected from the firewall. If you've got juice there at the bulkhead engine bay side connector, more than likely you could have a short to ground inside the cab that's causing it...- 83Stepper

Phantom Billet Grille emblem...anybody done this before?
Appreciate it bud. Seen those on LMC as well but trying to stay within an OEM type application. Not sure if any of the newer style grille emblems would work. Would hate to spend all that money on that emblem only to realize I hate it or the mounting tabs don't go all the way through it and get... -
Do throttle body or carb spacers actually help?
I've used the aluminum and phenolic carb spacers before and yes they do actually do something lol. Was having an issue with one of my old Blazers and heat soaking into the carb. The phenolic spacer actually helped keep the 1406 away from the intake allowing it to take longer for any real heat...- 83Stepper

Heater blower motor battery drain
My 77 2wd non-AC truck didn't have that. Believe it was A/C and the HD heater RPO's only that had that. Below is an unrefined pic of my old 77's heater box. Just the 3 leads (lt blue/brown/orange) going to the resistor and one headed to the blower motor.- 83Stepper

My 77 2wd C10 non-AC truck didn't have a blower/heater relay either. If anything, that should be a key on hot only to prevent this specific issue from occurring. Wondering if somebody at some point in time wired it in with the cigarette lighter circuit which is hot at all times and it's...- 83Stepper
