just my 1986 gmc camper special. C2500 350 eng /350 auto trans, 108,000 miles, (2wd, long bed, single cab,...98% all there like time forgot, patina rust on the top surfaces, as probably never driven in winter as its 2wd, I hope to get it painted over the winter) even if not in the show... -

305 serious sludge
this 1 with a big PLUS. first thing I buy for a used vehicle is a pcv, As I have pulled some weird things out of vehicles when I have a new OEM in my hand...with zero resemblance to what belongs in there. and a PCV is spring steel,...it gets old and does not work like it use to ...or...- goldpack

Original or crate engine? 1976 k5 blazer Cheyenne
good thread here, my 86 is in original condition with surprisingly little rust, and my only goal is to make it more so : (round of maint, change all fluids, replace any missing trim, give it a whole paint job,. with a 1986 350 / 3speed its never going to be "fast", adequate is OK for such... -

I forgot to say this process has a local title: this old farmer says when he does it he's "douching up his bitches". (I am sure he's got navel jelly for anyplace with a noticeable rust....before the mix goes on). -

Need advice on how to tackle an issue on my '86 305
its or orange "choke" light at 5 o'clock position in the left side gauge under the odometer 10'ths (hopefully yours is working just fine,...and it just stays unlit as its got nothing to report).- goldpack

Fluid film / paint
I know a old farmer, who does what his daddy did. 2 parts used engine oil, 1 part diesel. (diesel makes it creep) sprays it on with a hand pump on dry days in the fall. does it on jack stands ...over "sacrificial ground" ...that already has plenty of petroleum in it already after years of... -

Factory Chevy trained tech scratching his head on my truck problem.
if you have to do this again. ....buy a whole rust bucket that runs great....what I would pick: something 1996-2004. and plan on keeping it, park them side by side and start transferring stuff.
