Can't Get Driver's Inner Fender Back In

Also, I'm not sure how securely attached the inner fender is to the outer - there might be a lot of flopping around as you try to maneuver the unit.

    Compressor overload keeps tripping

Fixed: Repair shop replaced a faulty overload switch. Technically a DIY job but I would not have been able to identify it except by just throwing parts at it. Plus it would have required disassembling the motor and I didn't trust my ability to get it back together

What new tools have you got lately?

I thought this was a joke when I first saw it

    Compressor overload keeps tripping

All replies seem to be pointing to a bad motor. I'll have to contact the repair shop and see what my options are

    Compressor overload keeps tripping

The motor turns pretty easily by hand. And smoothly too. I doubt it's a bad beating because there's no bearing squeal and generally the motor is quiet

    Compressor overload keeps tripping

"Pereira" relief valve = pressure relief valve, that's some autocorrect madness. So, I called a local electric motor repair shop to see about testing the capacitors (I don't have a proper multimeter for that) and he said that it wouldn't be them and to check the amperage to the motor. I didn't...

    Windshield Wiper Fuse Location

@SirRobyn0 - I started noticing that. The couple of places that had one listed showed them backordered or with no availability. I'm a German car guy and one thing I love about them is I can go to the dealer and get a 40 year old part (Drip rail trim from a 1969 BMW 1602 - one week to the...

    Windshield Wiper Fuse Location

So today I had time and broke out the multimeter and the manual. Turns out I have high but not low speed, and the diagnosis flow chart says that it is a pump issue - most likely dislodged low speed brushes. Recommendation is to replace/repair the pump. I'm going to be looking for an AC Delco...

    Windshield Wiper Fuse Location

@SirRobyn0 thanks. Fuse was good time to check grounds and power this weekend

    Windshield Wiper Fuse Location

Thanks. I know where the fuse panel is, but can't find a fuse for it. And I got tired of looking at it half upside-down. I am going for low hanging fruit first fuses, then grounds, then the multimeter comes out for chatting circuits

    Windshield Wiper Fuse Location

I quick google search turned up a lot of info on how to change the motor but nothing about a fuse location. Truck is an '84 K10 and the wipers just stopped mid-sweep the other day. Before I toss a new wiper motor at it, I would like to check the simple things but I can't find the fuse location...

    Compressor overload keeps tripping

I thought I had this with the Pereira relief valve. Disconnected the pipe from the head to the tank and the compressor ran for about ten minutes and it sounded faster, but then it tripped the overload switch. But this time the compressor motor got hot. Not too hot too touch, but not...

    Interior Insulation

I use a similar Noico product over a sound deadening mat. The cab is noticably cooler from exhaust and engine heat and I think much quieter (I haven't put the carpet back yet)

    Compressor overload keeps tripping

Now my line of thinking is that the centrifugal switch is stuck on so that the primary windings (starting windings?) are overheating. Now I just have to locate that switch and figure out how to test it.

    Ls Swap Checklist

I'm planning on a very similar swap, except I'll have a 4l60e instead of the 4l80. What are you planning for fuel? I would like to keep my dual tank set up, so I think i need to change the switch and the fuel selector valve from an '87. My tanks are brand new so I might go with the holley...

    Compressor overload keeps tripping

Sorry I'm slow in responding, although I would like this fixed, I have other things that are more urgent. I checked both power leads and get 125 and 122 on them. That is with a multimeter connecting the leads to the ground screw. The compressor worked last year although I only used it a...

    Compressor overload keeps tripping

The tests for the switches didn't make sense to me so I replaced the pressure switch and the results were the same.

    Compressor overload keeps tripping

@Vbb199 - thanks. I go slow with electricity but I'm mostly OK with simple checks and fixes.

    How would I do that?

    Compressor overload keeps tripping

I have a Kobalt 60 gallon, 240v compressor with very little use (<10 hours even though it is 3 years old). Fitted it up the other day and it built pressure slowly and stopped before max pressure. Ran maybe 20 minutes. The next day I let it run venting so no pressure built up and it ran for 20...

    Vintage Air: Weekend Install?

Its really not that hard, but I did the whole Front Runner system which includes the brackets. (Fabrication is really my weakness - I can bolt things on and take them off all day long :) ). I did end up buying a few tools mostly for wire stripping and crimping and the AC line crimper. The...

Kicking around doing an LS swap

Carb rebuild is in the near future before I drop money on a new engine. Plugs, wires, distributor and coil(? HEI distributor) are new. I haven't been able to identify any vacuum leaks but I haven't tried too hard either - spraying carb clean or starting fluid around the carb didn't cause any...

What have you done to your square lately??

I've been trying to determine if my TCC is locking up. One of the issues I know I have is that the vacuum line is loose, so I went to two parts stores to find appropriate vacuum hose. Apparently, Advance is phasing out one supplier and not reordering stock. Got the hose hooked up but didn't...

    700R4 Vacuum Switch

@PrairieDrifter : Without a tach, I don't know if I'll be able to tell the change in RPM. I'll be doing a test run soon to see what I can tell

    700R4 Vacuum Switch

I shifted between D and OD a couple of times on the way to work yesterday. I don't know why, but the shift from D to OD is subtle but the shift from OD to D is very noticeable. So I am getting all four gears. I noticed that the vacuum line to the vacuum switch was loose so I'm going to...
