Mismatching front and rear tire sizes with 4x4

you should be just as aware of tire age as tread. with age they will lose wet weather traction and flexibility as the temperature drops no matter how good the tread looks. in my mind a 5 year old tire is too old.

    Starts then stalls. Stumped.

did you recently fuel up? although not often bad fuel happens. you can change parts till the cows come home and if it is the fuel,???

    Help with price.

it would be simple to drill a 1/4" hole down the center of the carriage bolts and then follow up with a uni bit till the heads come off

    engine oil

if you are not adding zink additive to a flat tappet motor you are simply rolling the dice. is $8 gonna break the bank? i lost a cam for that very reason. not worth the gamble

i used LMC on 3 builds over a period of 14 years and never have i felt that the parts were not usable or inferior. patch panels, interior, and smalls. i either have incredible luck or low standards.

    '76 K10 400 Small Block Fan Shroud

congratulations on owning a 400sbc! treat it like a big block (bigger than a 396) it needs to be properly cooled. use a bb rad and do not run it without a shroud. if rad and stat are up to snuff it should give you no problems. do not run it without a shroud. have been running these engines since...

400 SBC heads weird casting number

people that trash 400sb's don't know what they are talking about. been running them since '71 with no issues. cheap to build and gobs of torque

Will this produce the results I want

i think you will have a hard time getting 350 ft/lb torque out of that combo. also what is the gear ratio? the right engine with the wrong gears will fall flat on it's face

there are some good videos on youtube pertaining to engine cleaning. i would look there before deciding on a course of action. no need for a teardown in my humble opinion

    ignition timing crazy

what's wrong with just timing it by ear and see how it works. bump it a little advance and see what happens, if no good retard it a little at a time. doesn't seem like this engine has a sweet spot. my guess is timing chain and camshaft. probably not been using a zinc additive. one more thing to...

    383 Stroker or 6.0 LS??

a professionally built 400 sb with the right heads pistons cooling and cam would not fail and would provide the torque you need for towing. if you are mostly concerned about mileage, buy a late model truck

i think you will find that a '70 floor pan and an '80's floorpan are drastically different. prepare to do some fabrication and welding

    K5 Removable Top

i've had 3 72 k5 blazers and here's what i know, if you have shitty paint and body you only need 2 guys. if you have a nice restored blazer you will need 4 guys. 1 man can take a top off by himself with little effort by using an engine crane and slings. i have done it several times by myself...
