Beautiful burb they never were my cup of tea but that's a looker!

Welcome from NE Ohio

Couldn't help it saw the name Walter and thought of Jeff Dunham.
Thanks! Luckily, I'm not as grumpy as the Walter you're talking about. But I can laugh a lot at that Walter too. I think Jeff Dunham's shows are great.

how does that thing drive in the tight streets/ traffic around your part of europe?
do you wait for there to be very little....? like at the crack of dawn ?

I guess if you had to pay by the cubic meter for a parking space,...its going to cost more than 2 cooper mini.

ever camp inside ? ...I guess someplace where a RWD beast won't sink in the mud.

edit: and how did that monster get imported? (was it originally sold new in europe,?)

Sorry for the late reply, and thank you for your interest and questions.
Driving in the Netherlands isn't a problem. Yes, there are narrow streets here and there in old city centers or small villages, but even a delivery driver with a larger van can access those locations.

The biggest challenge is finding a parking spot—especially when parallel parking. Otherwise, you just end up sticking out a bit.

Fortunately, when you have to pay, the fee is simply per parking space.

In the summer of 2025, we went on vacation with the folding camper towed by the 'Burb for the first time. It was a fantastic experience; the car attracted a lot of attention and led to some great conversations. I didn't encounter any mud, though; I do try to avoid that.

Unfortunately, we did have one setback: a broken water pump. After a search of the area; Luckily, RockAuto offers very fast delivery—even right to the campsite—so we were back up and running just four days later.

At the time, that was the easiest option. There are suppliers in the Netherlands, but it’s difficult without transport, and stocks of parts are often limited. So, ordering from overseas is usually the easiest option.

What I know about the car is that it was imported from the USA to Belgium sometime before 1995. The brother of my brother's ex-wife bought the car back then; he lived in Belgium until 2000 and then moved to the Netherlands. He used the car as a daily driver. I bought that beast from him in 2013. The beast has presumably been in Belgium and the Netherlands for over 31 years. It dates from 1989; it is quite possible that it was originally purchased new in Europe or imported when it was still relatively young—around six years old.
