305 SBC vs 6.2 Detroit: Which would you rather?

Loud pipes can make for headaches too, still fun though. Ideally they really don't bark until you're winding it out, but growl at more normal RPM.

305 SBC vs 6.2 Detroit: Which would you rather?

I'm with Bucket here, looking at fuel prices, the extra MPG of the diesel is a was on the extra dollar or so in fuel price. Assuming $2.50/gallon for regular is just shy of $0.18 fuel cost per mile at 14 mpg. A 6.2 in the same truck, lets say 19 mpg average at 3.45/gallon is just over $0.18...

    How about a NEW squarebody?

I wonder if there's a set of camper mirrors with a bag of self-tappers in side one of those 3/4 or ton trucks.

Pretty much right in my back yard, trying to think if I've ever saw it.

What have you done to your square lately??

Really SJWs in VWs, after Dieselgate? I thought they were into Prius, bicycles, walking and public transit?

What have you done to your square lately??

As I parked next to it today, I was looking at it and thinking about what to do. Rockers and cab corners are in better shape than I thought. Driver's door needs the HRPC Pex mod, little bit of body filler, scuffed, and painted. I should get a pack of cutoff wheels and work on the bed...

06 Silverado hd or not hd 1500

1500HD was 8 lug, kind of a bastard model seeming like a CCSB light duty 3/4 ton. Check your SPID and lift kit to see what's there or supposed to be there. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

06 Silverado hd or not hd 1500

The IFS makes it really similar to working on a 2WD vehicle, ball joints are press fit, HF has a tool to do it on the truck. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

No power stuff isn't the end of the world, easy enough to swap in if you really want them. Stock seats would be nice, it's a buddy seat in the middle, armrest console thing.

Just bought a 2017 Sierra Denali CCSB

Yeah, but you can get an SLE with the 6.2. There's a lot of differences under the skin that separate a Denali from a loaded SLT, some options only available in the Denali. Another thing is the 6.2 is premium fuel only versus the 5.3 will run on regular.

Nope 5.3 is standard, 6.2 is an option, I've driven a handful of Denali Ultimates with a 5.3 when I worked at the dealership. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
