And now for what I did today. I pull my axles and drums and installed a new spring kit because I did when I did the shoes and they were dragging. I detailed that a little more in my diff thread.
I also took the fast idle cam of the carb and cleaned the shift really well. I've been having...
Yes, but it's higher than ideal.
I would agree with that.
True but that doesn't mean he can extend the life if his transmission with a cooler.
My 700r4 which obviously does have a lockup, it's also got a big cooler. Normal driving the gauge usually runs around 150. If I'm towing 7k I'll see...
Well I ended up having a problem. The problem was that the rear brakes were dragging going forwards. If I backed the adjustment off to the point that they didn't drag them my brake pedal was terrible. So today on my day off I drove the truck into work pulled the axle shafts out and tool the...
Well most all of you already know i tow and haul. For the sake of the spirit of this thread I'll give an over view.
Up until last fall I had a farm plus a day job. It was not uncommon for me to drive the truck on my commute to the shop, but it also got used extensively for the farm. It was no...
Thanks. All good info if this deal comes together or another one in the future. Honestly current one seems unlikely at this point like I said he's never available and I'm not going over on a "come on over I'll try to be available". That would be one thing is he was close by another when it's...
I thought I could live with this at least for the time being, but details really both me. Can anyone point to where I can buy a speedometer drive gear so I can get my speedometer to read correctly. Thanks.
Update: Never mind I have ordered a kit from amazon that should do the trick.
No. If I did I'd be showing ya'll pictures! Me and him don't seem to be able to get our schedules to align and I'm not driving and towing the Jeep 250 miles, and staying overnight in a motel for an I might be available. I'm still open to doing the trade but I have to get at least a commitment...
The truck this came out of was a camper special. Judging by the condition of the springs it certainly didn't have a camper plopped on it full time. That was one of the reasons I thought it might have 4.10's it doesn't and I'm ok with that at least for the time being. And honestly the price...
Thanks! It's not like huge gain, but when I push on the skinny pedal I can tell the difference.
I've used those overload springs on a couple rigs in the past and they are really great to help give clapped out springs a lift. I don't know if I'm going to add anything to this axle. 9 leafs...
Thanks! And good eye. I didn't do anything with that spring, I thought about trying to tweak it a little but I figured I'd just weaken the spring and if would probably fine as is.
Thanks again!
Thank you. Also It came with it. I tell ya it is so handy. And more than just for dumping material, its Even loading stuff you can tilt the bed some to make getting heavy things in easier. The previous owner was a friend of mine and he installed the dump kit in the 90's so it's certainly...
Ok it's done. I'm not sure how much I can really write about the install because it all went so well. Of course I cheated and dumped the bed up which makes working on anything related to the rearend super easy.
So pulled the new one out of the bed of the truck with the folk lift. Dropped...
I think I finally understand the principle. It's not that his wipers are hitting the gasket per-say it's that the OP believes that when the wipers are parked the blade edge is pressing against the glass and that the blade's rubber edge takes a "set" from being in that position. So those things...
