    Quality replacement steering box

Buy a Lares brand steering box brand new from any parts store, no rebuilds. They are quality OEM replacements and known for not having issues. It's a top tier brand.

Rough country 2 in lift leafs

Now that I think about it some most kits have blocks that have the angle built into them but since you got leaves for the rear often times they have a small angle shim that is bolted to the leaf stack so you might check and see if you have one on the bottom of the rears. sounds like you did...

Call them and ask or maybe check over the instructions if there are any?

    Cutting coils

Lowered coils are so cheap now I would just get one that is built to lower and at least that way you are not messing with the performance of it through the entire range of motion. I had a buddy that chopped coils on a mustang 2 in high school and I am pretty sure in this day and age it's the...

Do I rebuild my SBC or swap for an LS3?

If you have an engine to start with that is in good shape, good compression, and a 350, I would just put a cam and good matching intake on it, like one of the performer rpm packages. My buddy did it on his 1981 K5. I did a mild RV cam on mine and the difference was night and day. His was a...

    New Bench Seat Options?

That looks like more of a custom job overall. If price is no object LMC and the other truck places sell one from TMI but they are like 1200+ last I seem to recall. You could find an upholstery guy in your area that would probably do a truly custom setup like what you pictured for half the...

    Are pneumatic tools obselete?

Several devices for me that still work best on air: 1. Air hammer/chisel (I am 99 % sure they don't even have a battery version yet and I don't count the SDS units because the are usually super sized) 2. DA sander, just because they are also kind of self-cleaning on the right unit 3. Air die...

Can’t decide on single or dual tanks

To answer the question about gas mileage in a v6 vs v8, I once had a 2003 dodge ram, shortbed single cab with a v6. Driving from Dallas to Houston it would get at best 13 to 14 mpg, without fail. I test drove a hemi dodge that was a 2005 and quadcab, shortbed. It averaged 18 to 21. To my...

    Pressure in fuel tank-goes "pop"

    New HD Ball joints.

I've never really heard of new ball joints needing to be broken in to be honest but maybe that is just something with these supposedly HD balljoints? What brand and part # are they if you have that info? MIght pay to know more about the ball joint itself and if there is a more durable unit I...

    wood dimentions

Well, let me summarize better to establish my mindset. Currently there is some sheet of metal over what is there. Not sure how thick it is but it is at least 18 gauge so not exactly structural but not an issue while parked in the driveway undergoing the knife. I am sure I will probably throw...

    wood dimentions

I had never considered that. I thought the process permeated the wood all the way through. Now I've learned something. Cheaper wood and urethane does seem smarter in the grand scheme.
