    78 c20 quadrajet problems

Did you spray carb cleaner around base to search for vacuum leaks? Primary shaft may need bushings to prevent leaks. Did you keep correct original jets and primary rods in that carb? These heavy truck carbs were calibrated much differently than most other Quadrajets.

    Occasional fuel loss?

JB weld won’t hold in the carburetors. We see it often, because it is easy to find and buy, but will peel off easily. We use a 2 part marine epoxy that has to be filed or ground after it hardens. For stubborn leakers, we thread the well and screw in plugs that are epoxied. That being said...

    California Quadrajets

Calibrations were different but the Quadrajet can be set up for whatever you need to do. No other carb differences between CA and non CA.

    Polk Street Cruise- Amarillo TX

Way back in the old days, we cruised up and down Polk street looking for some races. Always a good time.

    Carbs at local auction

Center ones look like 4 jets, the predecessor to the Quadrajet. Legit appears to be old Carter AFB, same as the current Edelbrock. You can get your money back out of them plus some. AFB will have code stamp on front left of base. 4 jets should have a tag but most were lost.

Quadrajet, fresh built for small block. Ready to run

Well, hopefully this one will sell and we can build you another one when you are ready!!! You can save a little by not getting the plating. We do the plating on all of our "for sale" builds. Most are custom built to order.

    Quadrajet electric choke problem

Ok. Then if the rear pull off has the two rods connected, you don't need the front vacuum unit. The screw mount holes are there, but it isn't needed. That bottom black rod is connected to choke mechanism and works as the pull off. Green rod connected to air valves works as the vacuum brake...

    Quadrajet electric choke problem

From my notes, the 17056226 should only have the front vacuum brake pull off. You may have a reman carb where parts don't match original. Hope not, but the pictures will help.

Quadrajet parts, kits, and other carb items

We have expanded and selling parts for Quadrajets, 4 jets, 2 jets and AFB carbs. Adding things weekly, but already have about 400 items. Our kits are put together by us with the high quality parts we use in all of our builds. Check it out if you need parts. Let me know what you think and...

    Quadrajet electric choke problem

Do you mean 17056226? I don't see a 17086226. Post a picture of passenger side pull offs. If you have the rear mount vacuum brake with 2 rods, you wouldn't need the front unit. If your choke moves some when warm, you would need to re adjust the choke to full open when warm. If it doesn't...

Stock jet size on a quadrajet for my 454

Numbers are stamped in main body, driver side above secondary rod. Should be something like 17057229 or similar.

    Spreadbore Holley Carburetor ?

If it has computer control, it probably can't be removed. It can't on the Quadrajet. Quadrajets aren't sexy? Aww, cmon.

Stock jet size on a quadrajet for my 454

Do you know your Quadrajet code number? That would help. I could tell you original jetting. Most of those had huge main air bleeds and were very lean set up original. We would typically use a 76 or 77 jet and many had 53 primary rods.

    Spreadbore Holley Carburetor ?

I have several on a bench. They weren't very well received by the market, don't see them much. Holley type carbs have their place in the performance world, but not sure they did well with this design at all. If you have spreadbore intake, better off with a Quadrajet in my opinion.
