Non-stop horn honking
It was because the wheel was turned, not because anything was mechanically wrong or installed upside down. Now, I just need to figure out how to stop the horn from honking when I hook the battery back up.- My78truck

So, I apparently need high caliber brains to fix this. I went to put the steering wheel back on, after trying to clock it, and I noticed that the steering wheel was on upside down, but because the wheels were turned slightly out. Steering Wheel Cleaning
What I have done so far is spray it down with Dawn Power wash, let it soak, spray some more and then use a red scrubbing pad to scrub it down. Did that twice. I not is not sticky, but has a whiteish film. I am contemplating trying interior trim detailer. Or I might do what the paint guy... -

Gas Gauge issue
Thank you. I did restore, but only for my satisfaction and pride. I will fill her up, take an odometer and run her dry, take an odometer and then fill up again and repeat. Of course, the sending unit I bought, although from Summit, is just Chinese junk. Old one was shot, and better quality...- My78truck

Yeah, I would definitely prefer a nice OE one, but all the ones I find are in as bad a condition as mine and cracking, cracked or broken. I didn't know if I would like the "replacement", but it looks good and gives back that dressed up hood look. -
