Got another question. My truck doesn't have AC at all and in a few years I want to install Vintage air. What do I need to do in order for the vintage airs A/C compressor to mount correctly on the LS engine?
Also what preparations do I need to do now to make this happen?
Some questions right out of the gate:
1. Did you get to reuse your driveshaft or did you have to shorten/lengthen it?
2. I see mounts for the engine but not the transmission. What did you use? and where you able to use the crossmember from the old transmission?
3. And what solution did you...
Well looks like I am fixing to put my 1987 Chevrolet R10 pickup under the knife.
I have been doing some research on this and I have heard positive things about it.
Right now it currently has a 4.3 V6 with a nearly dead TH400 Transmission behind it.
I am going to a 5.3 V8 with a 4L60E...
If the sock gives me problems, I deal with that later. Plus the old sending unit still had the diesel sock on it and the truck ran fine. They just did a half ass job on the wiring harness.

The old sending unit had been broken before and the sending unit itself was zipped tied to the sender body. It was ratcrapped.
We ended up ordering a new diesel sending unit along with the...
Nevermind. I found out by using this PDF: http://www.partdeal.com/media/wysiwyg/Stewart-Warner-Catalog.pdf
It has the 240 ohm gauge in it. We ordered a new GM sending unit with the correct Stewart Warner gauge. (0-90 ohms)
I know this isnt about a square but here it goes:
I have a 1988 Pickup that my dad bought and it has aftermarket gauges in it.
I was wondering if a factory OEM sender is/will work with the Stewart Warner fuel gauge?
These is the gauges that this truck has...
How long did GM keep making the squarebody trucks after the year 1988?
My dad may be possibly be trading his ford for a 89 Chevy 1 ton (3500). I was just wondering what the chances that it would be a square or would it be the GMT400/OBS style?
I googled pictures for 1989 Chevy t ton and I...
