77 C15 305 hesitation off idle
BS...idle speed does effect initial timing with vacuum advance plugged..,Why??? Because that's how it works.... you want the idle to be as low as possible so you know for sure there is no mechanical advance..set initial timing....plug in vacuum advance, take reading...run rpm to at least 2000...- jti30666

It JUMPS up to 45 then drops... when it does this is exactly when the "miss" happens... and yes with pumps such as that of engines you can pull more than 45 of vacuum...I think your missing the point though...the vehicle always had this problem....I fixed the major issues such as leaks... -

If you read the entire first post this problem is the same from beginning to end....I just fixed other problems like I was supposed to...ie leaks, bad timing chain, vacuum leaks.....yes ricco I know this, have been down this road before (no pun intended)...and again I originally posted...- jti30666

I'm going to look into this but same problem with new parts doesn't make sense in a way....I'm leaning in a direction but I'm going to put the blinders on all of us -

On the Rochester 2 barrel I'm getting full manifold vacuum on the carb where the factory port is....ie where it is supposed to be at...I have both service manuals...one from Rochester and one semi useless one from Haynes lol... I'm getting a shot from both barrels....a nice stream... I'm using... -

It's not gm...new from AutoZone...never had problems with them before...but with the old dizzy we were having same problems...it was a gm oe replacement- jti30666
