Are you sure that the front and rear pinion gears are the same ratio. If one is different than the other it can cause your issue. The ratio's are fighting each other.
Just buy a new older style Q-jet and solve any problems you have the mid non and electric fuel control where nothing but junk. Thats where the name quadra junk came from. Otherwise the Q-jet is by far the best carburetor buelt if you understand how and what they can do.
I built my 700r4 with every after market performance part they make and I've towed a 10 thousand pound excavator with the 1990 gmc jimmy its in and I've never had any issues. But up to you you know what you want.
I run the same carburetor you have. If you are slightly mechanical inclined. Take the number off the bottom left if looking at it, should say 1401 1402 etc depends what card. Go to summit racing and order a rebuild kit for that number carburetor. Then go to your local auto parts store and get a...

You have received plenty of information on this engine. By the time you are done putting in all the parts you will be around 5 to 600 hp. It doesn't take much to make a 350 have 350hp and it wouldn't need aluminum heads but its up to you. Good luck
The Q-jet carb is only 800 cfms if you open up all 4 barrels if just driving moderately the front two barrels on a Q-jet are 600 cfms. Everyone bad mouths the q-jet but one of the best street carbs ever made no power valves to blow out and cause a fire. If you want a little extra power as a big...
If you have had perfect oil pressure up till you changed the oil. You have a bad oil filter. Its causing the oil pump to pump harder causing the pressure to go up which i turn is causing a bigger leak change it. I know you put an AC DELCO on it but ive had issues in the past. Put a k&n oil...
