    Sheared steering arm studs

Well I know it been a long time since I posted on this thread as I have had limited time to work on it. But I got the old studs out via welder and I am about to put the new studs in. I've heard the way to do it is to just put some loctite on the studs and snug them down. Is this correct? Anyone...

    Sheared steering arm studs

The studs are not flush. They are below the surface of the knuckle about a 1/4 inch.

    Sheared steering arm studs

Hey everyone, this weekend 2 of 3 of the studs on my steering knuckle sheared off in my steering arm. So now I gotta get them out. My truck is on my street and I dont have a lot of tools so I need to take it to my friends shop. Is it possible to take the whole rotor/hub/knuckle assembly out as...

    Extremely loose steering

So, 2 very obvious things were present when I went under the hood. 1 was the belt was loose, which made it about twice as better. And turns out the steering box was loose on the frame. Which made it 3 times better (however no cracking was visible)I no longer feel like I'm going to drive off the...

    Extremely loose steering

I appreciate all the helpful replies everyone. I replaced the pump and the box about a year ago so I doubt it is that @AuroraGirl. As far as the spring bushings go I replaced those with the RC lift kit I put on last December. I will check the steering box at the frame, check for play in the...

    Extremely loose steering

Hey guys, I have a 77 k10 with a stock remanufactured Saginaw steering pump and gearbox. My truck is sitting on 35s and I have absolutely terrible steering response. I can go about back and forth with the steering wheel about 3 inches to either side and I'll still stay centered in the lane. I...

Front driveline too short after lift kit.

Also I forgot to mention the reason I got the spacer is because portland driveline quoted me 700 bucks to do the whole job

Front driveline too short after lift kit.

So I ended up just taking the over extension clip out of the driveshaft and ordering the 1 inch spacer. Should have about an inch of play before it shows the splines. So I'm calling that good. However I dont know if should rebuild the cv. It is really stiff and requires some force to move. I'm...

How much extra length of play is a good amount for the slip yoke?

Front driveline too short after lift kit.

Hey guys, got the 4 inch RC lift on the truck finally, but the front drive line is about an inch too short fully extended. Does anyone know of an aftermarket driveshaft or spacer for a 1977 k10? I would prefer not to have to go to a shop.

    Finally ordering the lift

Should I be concerned about braking with the big 35s?
