Brainstorming about my 81 GMC
OK - yeah looking at it you will need to consider modifying the wiper arms / assembly, as the earlier hood will interfere with the later wiper assembly. I am sure it can be done and is not a show stopper. Also expect someone here has done it and can share pics of what is required.... ;-)- Fat 454

Not in front of my "stash" right now, however I believe the major issue to be aware of is around 1980 ( someone will correct me here ) the hood hinges changed from a mount on the inner front fenders to a pocket in the scuttle. Effectively therefore you should be able to retro fit the full front...- Fat 454

I have a 1990 short bed 2wd with a factory 350 and an NV3500. It drives OK, and is "fun", however its not what I would call a "sport truck". I have read loads of reviews that the NV 3500 is not a "strong" box, however I think that relates to the fact that you can break anything if you plant it...- Fat 454

what that guy said .. I would find an OEM chevy sway bar set up off a junk yard truck, clean, paint and fit it. Drop in bed liner
How about making one from marine ply and screws. Easy to make, robust, and if you oil it it will withstand the sun for a while at least. Also easily removable, and you can add in timber to support a second level load, or cover for tools etc. I prefer my beds with the original paint, however its... -

86 long bed 4x4 plastic model kit
This is currently available as a 1 /43 diecast from IXO ( Evil bay etc. ). Otherwise I would look for a monogram 1 24 C10 kit, and modify with printed parts that are available ( i'd try a google image search to find the parts you want ).
