Was the 5.3 an AFM, DOD engine? If so, the lifters might be stuck in the collapsed condition.

Grumba Just did some digging (see below, part no 29), all the 4WD use the same bolt. Its 3/4-10 x 3 1/4". The OEM part number is 328130...
