The PIR swap meet on Friday was excellent! I didn't end up buying anything, but it was great weather for the long walk around the track. I took some pictures of a few of the cars for sale that caught my eye:
Thank you for the invite, but I'll be scrambling to get to the PIR meet as quick as I can on Friday directly after I drop my wife off at the airport, so probably won't have time for a pre-swap meetup. Friday is now my only available day for going this year, so I'm trying to get there as early...
I got an email from the pinstriper I used saying that the toolbox I had her stripe up for my stepside is complete. Picking it up this Thursday.

I picked up an old, well used metal box that I'm going to use as a bed mount toolbox for my stepside. I'm planning on having someone local do some pinstriping work on it to make it stand out even more.
I'll be at the PIR meet on Friday the 4th and the Expo meet on Saturday the 5th. I've been going nearly every year since I was 15 and have bought surprisingly little over the years, but maybe that'll change this time.
I found a core 4L60E on Marketplace today that the seller said needed to be rebuilt. I got it for next to nothing though, so I think I'll use this as a learning experience and tear into it to see if it's in good enough shape for me to rebuild it myself. Worst case, I can always just put it...
I struck out on my first try at the u-pull. There was a wrecked 2wd Yukon that had just been sent there a few days earlier, but someone beat me to it. I'm now on a daily Marketplace check and will try the u-pull yards again next weekend.
I found a few potential options at local u-pull yards that I'm going to go check out tomorrow. I never considered attempting to rebuild one myself, but if it's only a few specialized tools and time, I might be able to handle that.
