I also have a ratcheting cutter. Yes, it will cut anything but steel. I use it for battery cables, 2-0 and 4-0 on the medium duty trucks. -
I have one. Works well. Use it mainly for cutting hoses. Sold under several brands. Replacement blades available on Amazon.
