No that’s not the part. If you look At the second picture. You will see the chrome part that the vent window lock hits.

Removing the canister is not good advice. I also would prefer to have working egr. There is no down side to egr,cooler combustion...

Get a 3/4" pipe cap or remove the tubes from the manifolds and order some brass 1/4" plugs to fill the holes.
