    I asked the smog guy if I could add a cat and he couldn’t give me an answer one way or the other because he’d have to look it up. I am going to throw the carb on and get it dialed in and hopefully have a winner there.

    I was as confused as you. Because the text in the CARB doc states that the manifold port has “egr functionality”, the carburetor needs an egr system for proper functioning. Since the stock truck does not have an egr system, I cannot add one. So basically wrong carb.

    Failed visual- the eddy 1400 carb, although carb compliant, has a manifold vacuum port for egr function. Since egr is not spec for this truck and this carb requires it- auto fail. At least the dude was kind enough to not charge me.

    Qjet to Edelbrock 1400 vacuum line puzzle- I need help

    Vacuum lines actually weren’t that complicated. The ‘control valve’ was required for the quadrant function but not for the Edelbrock. Yellow line went in to manifold and purple into ported/timed. Seems good. Few hiccups along the way but testing tomorrow.

    According to the smog report it was already labeled gross polluter but no one has said anything about where to get it repaired. I did all the repairs myself.

    Edelbrock says it’s street legal in 50 states- I don’t know when they were officially approved. I had to buy about 10 other parts to make it compatible thought. Just hope it works
