Distributor Wiring
IIRC, the terminals on many distributor caps are marked/ embossed with something like BAT and TACH. All you need is 12 volts ignition-switched to the BAT terminal.- 75gmck25

Optimal engine temperature for max HP?
Don't get engine temp confused with air temp into the intake. You want air temps as low as possible to get a denser "charge" of fuel and air, but modern engines perform and last better when they run in the 200 to about 230 degree temperature range. I’ve also seen some seat relocation brackets, but I’m not sure how they work. My seatback is almost touching the back of the cab, so there isn’t much space to move it back. -

Determine your power goal and budget first. Steering Wheel Too Close '84 C-10
Is your seat relatively new? I recently replaced the seat foam and seat cover on my ‘75 GMC, and the steering wheel clearance is now really tight (I’m only about 5’8” and 185 lbs). I’ve tilted the steering wheel up some and that helps, but that brand new foam is much different than the old... -
327 coughs and dies during gearchange.
There is a large diameter vacuum hose (3/8”?) from the intake to the brake booster, so a booster failure could cause a big vacuum leak. However, I don’t know why it would be tied to the shift into second, unless it’s just a factor of more engine load at that speed.- 75gmck25

Since your csrb may not be original, one of the first things to document is the model number of your Quadrajet, which is embossed on one side. Older carbs like yours probably have a 7 digit number like 7045583, and newer model use a longer number like 17080213. You need that number to ensure...- 75gmck25

77 C10 HVAC vacuum line replacement through firewall
They sell packages of GM hard vacuum line at most auto parts stores. There are two sizes (diameters), but I don’t recall which is the best match to original. Dorman part numbers 47419 3/16” and 47417 1/8”. -

Quadrajet Secondary issue?
Secondaries rely on air flow and vacuum changes to open up, so you are not even close to the point where they take effect. You checked your accelerator pump and it apparently works. However ethanol fuel does screw up the pump seal, and newer pumps use different seal material to fix that...- 75gmck25
