I have the bed off my 85 and Im trying to wire up some cheepo 2 wire tailights. The round stepside tailights have only a red and brown wire coming from the lights. My factory rear harness has 1 brown, 1 yellow, 1 dark green and 2 light green wires. I dont know crapola about electrics. Can somebody do some explaining to me how to get these wired up? Thanks.

Last time I drove without a bed, I just duct taped the stock tailights to the top of the bumper. And clamped a pair of Yosemite Sam mud flaps to the frame rails:crazy: I was legal though:High 5:

Bumping a dead thread I know. But... I had to replace my tail lights not too long ago and I figured I'd share my findings. I used the lights you het from autozone with the reverse light and couldn't get my tail lights to work for the life of me. Brake lights and turn signals both worked but nothing could get the tails to work. I ended up having to sacrifice the reverse light and used it as a ground and bam, all the lights worked perfect. Hope it helps anyone in a similar situation.
