LOL... Before I looked at the picture I was going to recommend you either get some tools and be brave or get out your wallet.

Just to be clear I DID NOT do this! But that's what the guy I bought it from said too....

Just wish I'd taken pictures of what "not me" did to the steering column trying to
get to the dimmer switch...

Air chisel? I thought it was a T-post and a sledge. At least the guy didn't have a torch.

I've had a new motor sitting on my bench for a couple weeks. Trying to work up the nerve and band aids to give it a try. I've watched a few videos and it looks like they really have to bang the regulator around to get it out. I'm kind of worried about the affect on the outside of the door. I hope it does't come down to getting out the air chisel ;)

I swapped one out a few months ago. It honestly wasn’t that bad. It took a little jockeying to get the regulator untracked and Re-tracked but I think I did the whole in an hour and a half or so. I would say it was a 4/10 on the band aid scale and I have xxl hands.

This YouTube was a good guide.

Now, I recently removed my vent windows and THAT resulted in a finger cut I’m not proud of at all. I would put that job squarely at a 7 on the band aid scale.

Next for me is changing out the door lock actuators. I’m not looking forward to it.

Enter changed the window motor without remoing the ent window?I usually
remove the vent window, frees up a LOT of space in the door.A bot more work
but I find it helps a lot.

I found the same hole in the driver door when I removed the door panel. Even with the hole the guy didn't get the motor installed right. Just make a patch and pop rivet it in place. You can get the motor and regulator out without butchering the door.

I did this one before I removed the vent window. The window was stuck closed because the actuator wasn’t working so there was no way I was going to get the vent window out without lowering the window.

It ended up being not only a bad motor but one that must not have moved for years. The regulator was really stuck.
