pulled cluster to reroute my cruise control vacuum hose, before pulling cluster everything worked ok. now everything still works fine when my lights are OFF, but when i turn my lights on:
1. Gas gauge drops to E
2. there is about 8v on the gas gauge ground
3. turn signal lights both turn on. if you signal left or right that seems to work, but both will still stay lit all the time.

I cleaned up all the grounds, not sure where else to look exactly. the 8v on the ground is baffling and I will admit i forgot to test other grounds on the cluster before posting this. i can do that tomorrow.

no, it looked like all the pins are on the correct pads w/ none touching.

tested grounds and turn signals at the plug when not plugged in to cluster. 0v on gnd as should be, so obviously something goofy going on once it gets plugged into cluster. will take a closer look later when it is warmer in the garage...brrrr...

it was a bulb. unfortunately someone :idiot: (me) decided to epoxy one of them in place because the housing was broke and when removing it broke the copper trace at the light for the fuel gauge. even though i can still trace the ground from the fuel gauge to a ground pin in the connector i am not getting continuity. it seems to work, but i don't trust it. but everything appears to work as it should again

time to source a used cluster i guess

That one up in the corner? Agree, I see the casing in that area brown and warped a lot. Might be because the lamp has no room to breathe - too close to the cluster wall.
